“It was the best present I have given myself in a long time.”
From my experience as an editor in the beauty/fashion dept of Cosmopolitan and More Magazines and a high-fashion model w/ Ford before that, Jeffrey is the most talented colorist that I have ever come across. I've been to the best of the best - and after 10 years of his artistic touch, I will not go anywhere else. Also, he's also vey funny, which makes sitting in the chair for hours entertaining.
All I have to say is that Rebecca at Cutler Soho is an incredible stylist and created one of the chicest cuts I've had in a LONG time. She made me feel so at ease and truly took her time seeing to it that I was comfortable and happy with every lsnip. I was due for a cut, but I walked out with a style. I won't let anyone else touch my hair now! Thank you, Rebecca!! xx
All Around Best Salon Imaginable!.
5 Stars ALL THE WAY to Rodney Cutler (Owner), Dean Holcombe (Creative Director/Stylist), Summer (Color), Danielle and Carrisa! This team is soooo talented with the best personalities to match - AMAZING! They had worked on my hair which had far to may issues to list. They transformed me from "bag over my head" to amazingly confident - I am still getting compliments from November 15, 2011! Their professionalism and magical artistry were coupled with smiles and kindness. They all treated me like a Popular Super Model but I am just a little person in the world. From the moment I entered the Salon to the moment I left, it was a wonderful, special and unforgetable experience! Thank you all for changing my life in a way that few could imagine! I will never forget any of you for I will be seeing you soon.
Warmest Regards for a Healthy and Happy New Year!
best of the best 4 color. Had been going to other glitzy high end salon, and felt my look was getting stale. A couple of fashion forward friends had raved about Cutler, and one colorist in particular (even at the most fabulous salons, results can vary...) I saw Rebecca for color/highlights/lowlights and the results were amazing... I like to give experts more freedom than some people and was thrilled with the results. After bad breakup had been feeling down and Rebecca's transformation made me feel beautiful for a change... She has an amazing eye for what is most flattering and exceptionally precise technique. An unexpected plus was that I saved about 20% over my "other" salon. This was impressive as Cutler does tons of runway shows (from Victoria's Secret to Prada, television (e.g. Snookie and JWoww on Rachel Ray!!) and editorial work. Not much else to say except self improvement was never easier.
Amazing service, results and price!.
I have been looking for a 'hair dream team' during my five years in NYC, and have never been completely satisfied, even after paying ridiculous prices.
I decided to give Cutler a try after a recommendation from a friend, and I was AMAZED. Kelsy (cut) and Shawn (color) were absolutely professional, friendly, and offered many options for my desired look and lifestyle...they asked questions during the consultation that immediately put my mind at ease. Needless to say, I'm THRILLED, and I'm spending around $200 less than my old salon!
Seriously, RUN, DON'T WALK to Cutler for a fabulous experience!
WORTH THE MONEY AND HYPE!.
After reading a couple of reviews on Citysearch, I wasn't 100% sure if I should go to Cutler to get my hair cut. Maybe they had a disappointing time there, but my visit was nothing less than amazing. From the moment I walked in the door, the staff was friendly and happy. Even the owner was there and said hello to me when I walked by him (which is the first time I've gone to a high end place and had that kind of greeting.)
Jenny B. was my stylist and immediately made me feel comfortable from the moment I sat down. She asked me about what I did, where I went, how much time I wanted to spend on styling my hair - and then sent me off to the shampoo bowl. Lane (who washed my hair) gave an amazing massage that almost put me to sleep. Jenny took her time on my cut and it paid off! It's the best cut I've ever had - it even looks good right out of bed. She even explained how I should style it when she finished it off with the blowdryer. The amount of money it cost was an investment, but totally worth it. They've got a client for life!
Cutler is a FARSE.
First of all, my fiance had just about the worst haircut he has ever had at Cutler Salon with Anthony. We really could not believe how bad it was. Let me just say, my fiance is one of the nicest people on the planet, and he didn't even want to write this review, but it was so bad, that he agreed to let me say something about his horrible experience at Cutler. He is NOT an extremely hard to please customer. In fact, he is the total opposite. He is just a nice guy who got a really bad hair cut. Its really no surprise, either, because after the haircut, my fiance informed me that Anthony actually wreaked of booze and had smelled it on Anthony's breath from the moment he sat down in his chair. It was not at all surprising to me, because the haircut really looked like someone who was drunk had cut his hair, or better yet, like a five year old did the job. It was too short in some places, chopped in others, and it was very long on the sides and over his ears. In general, it looked very hacked up and short. My fiance was extremely disappointed with the cut, especially because he paid close to $150 for it. He felt like he was rushed here and there, between assistants, while Anthony texted on his phone and chatted with other stylists. Also, when my fiance went to pay for his haircut, another stylist continued to talk to one of the receptionists at the front desk and no one budged to let my fiance, a paying customer, through to do so! The stylist just gave my fiance a dirty look. Also, the woman who checks coats was very rude and seemed to expect a tip just for handing over the robe the salon provides for the client to wear for their services.
Overall, it was a terrible experience. Anthony ran late, smelled of alcohol, was texting on his cell, and in general, everyone including Anthony had a very arrogant, pompous attitude. The arrogance seemed to be a trend at Cutler among all the staff...and who can blame them all?? They are allowed to come to work drunk! What's really on the line here? Certainly not their jobs! Who is allowing these jokers to behave this way at their jobs?
Ask for David K.. David K. at 57th Street truely knows how to cut hair. I had a great experience. Love my new style and am glad I finally found a styilst who really listens and cares. I will recommend him and be going back.
Finally a salon for an LA transplant!.
I decided to try Cutler and Summer promised to bring my dingy, no sunlight NY winter hair back to it's California sunshine.
She (and all the staff) were nothing short of wonderful...I left happy with my hair for the first time since I moved here.
Everyone is so nice...they made me feel at home...they gave me great advice for treatments (not used to constant heat and horrible water) and Summer checked on me every step of the way.
Love the atmosphere..the people...can't wait for my next appointment...What a great experience!
For fashion that works for YOU, Kelsy O is your gal!.
What I love about my stylist Kelsy Osterman of Cutler Salon in NYC, is that she's fashion forward but looks at the whole picture so I get a cut that works for me. She takes into account my personality and that I'm an active person. I don't like to fuss much with my hair. Kelsy looks at the natural inclination of my hair and maximizes the quality of it with the cut.
She has great passion that really comes across in a very positive way. And she has a unique quality of being able to somehow pull it all together so the cut makes sense. In short, I trust her.
So if you want someone that has a great sense of trend and fashion but is practical so it works for YOU, Kelsy at Cutler Salon is your gal!
