Luckily, he's also a down-to-earth, personable guy who thinks in the long-term, favoring healthy, natural locks--with just the slightest edge--over fleeting trends. A mixed crowd of tourists, Upper East Side mavens and Midtown career folk keep the salon hopping; nearly 50 staffers help things run smoothly.
The Services
Knoll colorists and stylists work together to create classic, flattering hair, no matter who the client is. Facials, waxing, makeup application and nail services are also available. Manis and pedis can be done while hair is being cut (to save time), on a side banquette or in a private room, depending on your mood.

This is a great salon. From the first time I ventured in, just to have a look around, I knew it was the right one! All the people who work there are friendly and attentive, and those that have actually done my hair are excellent. Nicolay is - for me - the best colorist that I've gone to, and Liliana is a wonderful and thoroughly delightful stylist, as good on the teenage son as she is on both the mother and teenage daughter. From the ladies on the desk to the young men who bring the coffee and everyone (well nearly!) in between they are all pleasant and helpful. The only long faces are on the Upper Eastside ladies who seem to often be in the majority and rarely manage a smile!
Pros: Excellent skilled service in a good atmosphere
Cons: Can't think of any - except I don't know why the security man always asks my name - he never seems to do anything with the information!!

Liliana did my hair for my wedding last year. I LOVED the way in turned out. I went in for a trial and she was able to create the exact look I wanted - long gentle curls. The style lasted all day long and looked just as good at the end of the night. I highly recommend her. I can't say much about the price, however, since my mom picked up the tab. I think it was pretty pricey so as long as you know that going in, you'll be very pleased.
