Anticipating your every desire.. The Scene
Make no mistake: This hotel has everything. A block from 5th Avenue, it occupies a 52-story, I.M. Pei-designed limestone tower with 360-degree views of Central Park and the surrounding skyline. Guests enter via a dramatic grand foyer boasting a 33-foot-high back-lit onyx ceiling. It feels much like a 1930s-era Hollywood movie set.

The Details
The 370 spacious rooms average 600 square feet and feature foyers with built-in minibars, separate sitting areas and dressing rooms. Rooms feature caramel or copper color schemes and have electronically controlled silk draperies. Cubist and abstract art provide dramatic accents, while Frette linens, soundproofing and blackout blinds offer comfort and restfulness. The 120-square-foot marble bathrooms contain separate, deep soaking tubs and showers, TVs and telephones, along with the customary upscale amenities. Standard room treats include VCRs and two dual-line telephones with connections for computer and fax.

Quality services at jet-setter prices in midtown.. Located next to the for-hotel-guests-only fitness center inside the posh Four Seasons Hotel, the spa boasts sizable service rooms done-up in classic, nice-hotel decor (complete with high thread-count sheets). Guests change and wait in the amenity-stocked locker room, which offers digital lockers, steam, sauna and whirlpool, plus plenty of fresh robes and towels, bottled drinks and fruit. The menu includes primarily standard upscale-spa fare, with a few unusual twists like acupressure with back-walking (in which the therapist walks all over you-literally--while holding onto parallel bars affixed to the ceiling), and the "DNA molecular regenerator" facial.

If you have it.... I stayed at The Four Seasons last April and must say I was impressed with the scale of the place. As usual the staff was all over us from the minute we walked in. Our room was pleasant, nothing grand as you might expect for these prices, but the bathrooms were great, as were all of the amenities. Room service was incredibly fast, and the food was excellent.
