“But the real shocker was when I found out that I had to pay full price for the facial I never got and a useless salt scrub (could have been more effective had I done it myself in the shower)!”

Had the Balinese massage here and I feel great!! I love the atmosphere of this place - super relaxing! Ugh, i wish i could afford to go EVERY DAY!! I'll definetely try to go at least once a month!! Super clean place! I highly recommend, except it's a bit pricey, but worth it. :-)

Stay Away from Away Spa. From check-in to check-out, this was my worst spa experience ever. The staff at the front counter are unreceptive. I had to flag an employee down to check-in and was given a pair of flip-flops that were too large for me to walk in. It took 10 min. for the front desk to find another pair causing me to be late for my appt. I had to skip my facial due to being late and I had an average-at-best salt scrub...which could only be 20 minutes due to being behind schedule. But the real shocker was when I found out that I had to pay full price for the facial I never got and a useless salt scrub (could have been more effective had I done it myself in the shower)! The experience was stressful, not to mention the relentless pushing of products. I will not go back again.

This stylish hotel spa offers body treatments with an Eastern twist, excellent facials, and a Tea Bar.. The Space
Located inside the city's flagship W Hotel, the Away Spa and adjacent gym are tucked into a floor of guest rooms and can be tricky to find. Change into robes and fluffy slippers in the well-equipped locker room before heading to the anti-oxidant tea bar (stocked with magazines, snacks and teas hand-picked by the hotel's tea sommelier) to await your therapist. The treatment chambers are converted hotel rooms, so some have a private bath attached. Products by Jurlique, Tipton Charles and Molton Brown are available in the reception area.

The Services
In addition to manicures, pedicures and waxing, Away offers eight different facials, numerous styles of massage (including hot stone) and three body scrubs and wraps. There are also alternative healing services like Reiki and craniosacral therapy, herbal mineral baths and exotic body treatments such as the "Star of India" (a 90-minute facial-massage-wrap combo) and the glorious, nearly-two-hour "Javanese Lulur," which originated as a pre-wedding service for the princesses of Java.

I am a Balinese Princess. I went to Away yesterday for my birthday - the Javanese Lulur was amazing! You truly feel like a pampered princess - the Balinese massage was heaven, the oils, scrubs, and lotions smelled divine, the massage therapist even adjusted the water temperature of the shower perfectly. When the treatment is finished, there is a path of rose petals leading you to the door. I have been to many many spas, but this treatment is simply the best experience I'd ever had!

Be pampered like royalty.... The Away Spa is the perfect place to forget about life and just indulge in a day of relaxation. Even before the treatments begin it's hard not to relax while awaiting your therapist at the Asian styled Tea Bar on comfortable sofas & chairs. The spa offers an array of Eastern themed treatments that are worth a try. My personal recommondation is the Signature Javanese Lular Treatment....I had experienced this treatment in a spa in California and was unable to find a NY spa that provided a treament that could compare. This massage & body treatment is well worth the $ and will leave you feeling like a pampered princess!!

Soooo Relaxing . . .. The massages are great. Sure, very relaxing BUT what makes this place special is the environment around you. The tea, the music, the seats . . . wonderful. Keeps you relaxed - until you go down to the bar downstairs.

One of the best. Everytime I've gotten a massage there, the therapists always listen to me and concentrate on specific areas with just the right amount of pressure. The facilities are clean, and the staff is helpful.

very good, but don't liek the set up. The services are gret, but I don't like the little hotel rooms with windows out to the street.
