Interesting Clientele

This bar has at least two, probably more personalities. Literally day and night. If you're interested in meeting interesting friendly locals, go at night. If you are interested in sports, especially horses, go during the day. Either way, the bartenders are all great interesting friendly people. The place has no pretentions and you shouldn't expect any. If you go when there is a concert at the Beacon Theatre, you won't meet anyone and the service will not be up to par. Half the ambience left when the anti-smoking law was enacted, but still you should go. Steve is a most interesting bartending personality, but brother Mike is cool as well.

Great Neighborhood Bar

P&G Cafe is a great place to down a few beers. If you're going to a show at the Beacon, it is a far better alternative than Yogi's. The Jukebox is ok - mostly classic rock, but a little alternative, country, and jazz thrown in for good measure. Mike the Bartender (weekends) is unquestionably in the top 1% of all bartenders on the planet. Sunday nights feature baseball (in season) and jazz (off season). No food is served here but you can bring it in.
