Great Therapeutic Class

After being injured for about five months I was looking for a yoga studio that would offer not only restorative classes but a therapeutic class, something that would be slow and thorough enough to allow recovery and strengthening. They have the perfect class if this is what you need. I saw results right away. The class was guided by Marjorie, a gentle and funny teacher who had absolutely no problems taking the time to explain postures and help you achieve proper alignment. The space was very peaceful as well.

I've been wanting to try this studio for awhile and wasn't impressed. I felt like they needed to hose the place down. There was hair everywhere. I know there's lots of chicks who do yoga but it was sort of gross. The class was good. The teacher was really great. I kind of wanted less explanation but it was cool.

The Only Yoga School You'll Want to Go to

The World Yoga Center is tucked away on the upper west side of New York and has been there since 1972. The Yoga they offer is powerful and deeply transformative. If you become a regular WYC student you will feel as if you?ve been gently placed in a peaceful current and your life will begin to ?flow with grace.?

Since I wandered into WYC a year and 8 months ago, I?ve taken many of the WYC Yoga classes with a variety of teachers and they are all excellent. I've also taken a wonderful 10 week meditation course and a nine month immersion program where I?ve been exposed to the ancient teachings and to all the Yoga practices. These practices have helped me touch the underlying peacefulness at my core.

World Yoga Center is not a highly commercial place? you won?t see t-shirts to purchase or other marketing gimmicks at WYC. Rudrani, the founder of WYC, studied, lived and apprenticed with illustrious meditation and yoga teachers in India and the U.S. By the way, make sure you take one of Rudrani?s classes which are truly inspirational. She has an uncanny and mysterious way of saying exactly what you need to hear. She?s not just a Hatha Yoga teacher, she is also a gifted meditation teacher; her words and her voice have the power to take you deep inside. At one of the WYC satsangs, a number of us realized we start dropping into meditation as soon as we hear her voice.

When you go to the World Yoga Center you step into a timeless atmosphere of sanctuary and peace. It?s amusing to talk with newcomers after their first WYC class and their first encounter with the peaceful, powerful meditative energy that pervades the space. New students often use the same words to describe the experience? ?That was the best Yoga class I?ve ever been to. I?ve never been to a class like that.? After you go to WYC you won?t want to go anywhere else.
