Editorial Review for Hi-Life Bar & Grill – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
Patrons grab one of the eight beers on tap at the bar, and then slide into a roomy booth or a table in the atrium. The menu, which features steaks, burgers and pasta in addition to sushi, is robust. Starters include potato skins, slathered in cheese and bacon bits and a warm goat cheese salad. Salads and pasta are listed under "Big Bowls"; sushi is half-price on Mondays and Tuesdays.

I love the city's classic, been there forever "joints", e.g. Pete's Tavern, Walkers, Old Town, Lenox Lounge, but Hi Life is my favorite. I've been frequenting Hi Life for over ten years and it has just grown on me. In my opinion there is simply not a more comfortable place to eat a steak and watch a ballgame, or meet friends for dinner. The decor is a mix of mahogany and leather upholstery, with a funky collection of antique treasures. And, consistently over the years this place has always had cute and interesting servers and bartenders that give an added dimension. In short, Hi Life is one of the city's classics.
Pros: Ambience

I recommend this place for anyone that has not tried it yet. They have good early bird specials which keeps us coming back often. I love their sushi (spicy tuna roll is my favorite) and great burgers and fries. They are right across the street from Fred's which is also not bad, but not as good as Hi-Life.
Pros: Early Bird Specials and Quality
Cons: I wish they had better happy hour specials!
