Healthy, Healthy and Excellent!!!. First time I went to Ozu, I was so surprised that I was able to have such a tasty vegitarian food even though I'm not vegitarian. Against my espectation of vegitarian food like not much tasty and too healthy, they are absolutely different. Ozu has fried noodle, rice and dumplings (They are all yammy and my favorite!!!) as well as typical vegitarian food. Of course they use the special oil and seasoning, though. Price is not super expensive in spite of its location. Also, I've been told they just started the special menu which will change one a month. It makes me to decide to go back often, definitely.

Why don' you try Ozu? You will be able to enjoy it although you are not vegitarian and do somthing good for your own health .

Healthy Food / Bad Service. Pros: healthy, tasty, affordable

Cons: bad service, absentee management, nasty wait staff

The food is good, healthy and affordable.

However, the waitresses have a real attitude problem. I have encountered problems there with three waitresses and seldom ever encounter problems with waitresses elsewhere.

Some restaurant management has the laissez-faire attitude of allowing the inmates to run the assylum and the absentee management at Ozu appears to allow wait staff the same luxury.

Unfortunately, it can really ruin what would otherwise be a good dining experience.

First, when the waitress gets an order wrong, she will not apologize.

Second, she can easily ignore you and make you wait for a very long time for service, even as you try to flag her down or say "excuse me"...and the restaurant is very tiny, so she has to be trying to ignore!!!

And if you make a statement that requires a direct answer, frustratingly, she will refuse to answer you.

Anyway, suffice it to say, the people skills are rock bottom. Another waitress there once made me hold for ten minutes when I phoned in an order and a third waitress once snootily informed me how popular barley tea is in Japan when I asked if the tea was leaf tea or not. Yet another waitress lied about specials available (saying there weren't any--even though there are always specials on the blackboard) when I phoned in because she couldn't be troubled to read them to me.

Read the reviews on other sites over the years and you will probably find that my experience of poor service there is absolutely not unique.

Management really needs to fire their wait staff and figure out how to hire some professionals without attitude. I even tried calling to speak with management and was told that the owner does not accept phone calls and I would need to write a letter.

Gee, I wonder which waitress is going to get to that letter first?!?
