Uninspiring. I took a chance, and it was a miss. There is a reason I hadn't heard about this restaurant before. It's clearly the kind of restaurant a non-New Yorker/tourist would go to for run of the mill flavor and stock ingredients rather than inventive creations and authenticity. I don't knock them for what they do, but an authentic experience, it is not.

My mushroom polenta was not a great mix of shrooms and flavor baked in, but was canned mushrooms laid over a block of grilled polenta that was tasty but also seemed as if it was prebought and simply warmed and grilled. My dates shrimp scampi could have been from the Olive Garden - oh wait, I understand that the Olive Garden is better. Lastly my seafood salad was huge with fresh ingredients, but in truth it was poorly prepared - chuncks of peppers, celery and seafood with lemon and vinegar zest but not much else. The wine list was completely forgettable. So, I won't visit again.

Amazing pasta. After reading reviews on citysearch i decided to try this restaurant out. I went here this past saturday night and was amazed at how well we were treated. The pasta i ordered was cooked perfectly. They sat us quickly and the service was very helpful when choosing our meal. The Dessert was great too. I would definitely come back and try some of the other options.

Great comfort Italian. I have to say that Bella Luna has some great pasta! We were in the mood for some delicious, big portions, and warm food. We found Bella Luna and knew that we had made the right choice! The staff was really friendly from start to finish and our waitress was observant of us but not over bearing. The food was exactly what we were looking for. Warm, comforting Italian. I had the raviloi with ricotta cheese and red sauce and my boyfriend had the lamb shank. Both were terrific. Also as it turns out on wednesdays they have 1/2 priced wine night. which rocks. Definitely will be back!

Great UWS Choice. I think Bella Luna is a great choice for lunch or dinner on the UWS. I've had really terrific meals at a reasonable price and in a friendly setting. What more could I want? They're accommodating with my diet restrictions too without attitude like some other UWS places. I totally recommend Bella Luna.

Great Food!. Such great big portions of pasta... and so tasty. The food is good. The wine is good. The service is also good. I recommend it for anyone in the mood for two meals worth of food for a decent price. Also, they have take out and delivery. Both are great. You must try carpaccio di manzo and linguine "Bella Luna".

Great Neighborhood Restaurant. I went to Bella Luna after completing the NYC marathon. I didn't have a reservation and we had a large group, but they welcomed us with open arms and immediately accomodated our group. The service was very attentive, but not overbearing. The food was phenomenal. The lobster ravioli was to die for! This restaurant has a friendly, neighborhood vibe. Dinner is inexpensive, especially for the UWS. I will return to this establishment.

Great Experience. Whenever I go to this restaurant I've never had one bad experience. The staff were always helpful, polite & courteous. Every server we've had was always great & the food is never disappointing. The price is unbeatable & the ambience is even better. Nice place to have a date and dine casually on a weekly basis. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends & family since I've always had such a great time here. The calamari is great & so is the shrimp scampi

Delicious. The resturant is outstanding. The service is very attentive. Food is excellent; especially the specials. Nice place for a date. Drinks are good, too. Could use an update on red wine list. I recommend, and I'm picky!

Over-Rated by a mile. The service needs a great deal to be desired. Also, the food quality has slipped. Become too commercial for its own goos - I think this place has seen better days - time to look for the next haunt. As it goes in NYC, you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
