My boyfriend and I frequent City Diner for their 24/7 breakfasts. We are fans of their eggs and bacon: I've never had them overcook my eggs and the bacon is always crispy. Their pancakes, waffles and french toast are also really good. Their burgers are really big and cooked to order. The fries are thick , crispy golden steak fries. One of my favorite menu items, though, is their milkshake. They are made with Haagen-Dazs and are really thick and creamy. I wouldn't go as far as saying we've had poor service or that the servers are rude; our water glasses get refilled and they check on us to make sure we have everything we need. Their portions are generous. Overall, this is a diner, so don't expect white tablecloth, Michelin star dining, but what a diner is supposed to do, City Diner does very well.

I am so surprised that some people were not satisfied with the service and the food at this place! I live right near here and this was actually the first place I ate when I moved here. I have never had a bad meal here and I have never had a problem with the service- and I come here all the time (I eat here, I pick up food here, I have it delivered). Sunday brunch time gets very, very crowded... but this is understandable... the challah french toast, pancakes, waffles (esp. the multigrain waffle! and tutti frutti), bagel and lox platter are all amazing. I mean it's a diner so don't come here with zagat expectations, but it fills the need. I was recently at a diner in midtown and was shocked when I was told that I couldn't order pancakes after 11. City diner has everything you could want at a diner, 24/7. I don't know what I would do without this place.

Its a Diner. Open late, quick food, you can sit at the counter, booth or table. Clean. Little pricer when turned into City, but after a Yankee game, tastes delicious, expecially after a win. Good service. Fast delivery.
