Hidden Upper West Side Gem - TwoDo Hair Salon. From the minute I walked in, I loved the salon! It's not your typical stuffy NYC salon. The atmosphere is relaxed and I could tell the colorists and stylists not only loved their job, but loved the environment they worked in! I absolutely recommend this hair salon to anyone on the Upper West Side looking for a place where all the attention and focus is on you!

You owe it to yourself........ You owe it to yourself to check Two Do Salon out. I travel a lot for my job and have to look good in front of clients. I'm very particular - ok, I'm demanding - I live in NYC and have a lot of options. I come here.

What a talented staff of people! From the moment you walk in, to the time you pay your bill - you are greeted with a smile and relaxed unpretentious attitude. Absolutely tops in quality, service, and price....and I've been in NYC for 11 years and checked out most of the so-called top salons.

1) Megan and Ishmael are the top colorists in the city. Not suprising that Two Do has been rated #1 by Allure Magazine. I've had other stylists stop me on the street in NYC and secretely ask me "Who Does Your Color?! It's amazing!"

2) Danielle is a gifted stylist who cuts my hair and does all my blow-outs. She also does Great Length's hair extensions, so when I was growing out my hair it looked immediately long and they lasted 6 months.

3) Now that my hair is long and healthy, Ishmael does the Brazilian Hair Treatment and my hair does not get frizzy - even with all this rain and snow we've had! Ishmael has a special method for Brazilian hair treatment that is different than the rest.

4) Art is also an amazing stylist - he cuts my son's hair - but make sure you book in advance because he's in high demand and it's understandable. People will ask you where you get your hair cut.

Two Do Salon "gets it" = If you want loyal customers, address them - personally - and serve the best ones passionately.

Relaxing atmosphere and fabulous cut by Yaniv. I've been getting my haircut by Yaniv, a sweet and very talented stylist, at Two Do for two years now. He helped me make the transition from long and frowzy to short and stylish. His cuts grow out well, too. I wish I could go to him more often, as the cuts are a little pricey and I'm underemployed. However, I think he and Two Do offer excellent value for money.

Owner, Megan, is a color genius. She spends a long time analyzing your hair and talking with you about what your want your color to be. A few times I've come back to have her fix things, and it's been no problem.

I also like the experience of Two Do--no pretention but good magazines, tea and cookies. It's a relaxing treat when I go there.

Yaniv rulls !. I was a first time customer and travelled quite a long time to get there since my friend recomended me this salon as a really good one.. Totally worth the trip! First I got a gloss treatment. Then Yaniv cut my hair. In the past, everyone cuts too much length and I've been very unhappy with so many stylists. Not Yaniv! He gave me a great haircut while keeping my length. Also a great blowdry that has lasted half a week and looks like it will last another week! He is a great hairdresser and really listens to what the client wants.

Also the overall atmosphere in the salon is very special and unique in it's own way.

Very recomended !

3 words. BEST...

SALON...

EVER!!!

I have shoulder length hair - which is not typical for men in NYC. Also, my hair has been highlighted to a shade of blonde not seen in nature. I called Friday morning to schedule a cut and color - fully not expecting to get an appointment. The friendly receptionist who booked my appointment for later that afternoon, asked questions about what I wanted to accomplish with my first visit to Two Do. Then, she actually got the colorist - Suzana - to speak directly to me! WHAT? THAT NEVER HAPPENS ANYWHERE ELSE I HAVE BEEN IN MY LIFE!

I want to talk about my experience in the salon. Suzana listened attentively to my needs and wants and took her time to perfect the shades in my new color. Prior to beginning it, She introduced me to Art, who would be cutting my hair. We chatted about length and layers and he told me that to go much shorter would not look good on me. Suzana began my color - and she told me exactly what steps she was taking and what they would accomplish - 2 different highlights, raising my base, adding low lights, then a toner and then a gloss. The cut with Art was one of the best I've ever had. He did exactly what I wanted and his understanding of my hair was apparent.

When I got a look at the finished work of my new colorist and stylist, I was in AWE! It was the exact color and cut I had always wanted but was never able to get ANYWHERE! I walked out of the salon with my head held high - feeling like a million bucks, but here's the best part - I didn't even spend an outrageous amount on my fabulous new look.

I cannot encourage you enough to go to this salon. I will never go elsewhere to get my hair colored and cut. Suzana and Art are true geniuses of hair - I cannot believe that it took me so long to find them. Thank you Two Do for the being the BEST...SALON...EVER!!

Danielle's Cuts Rock!. I have extremely fine hair and I'm always looking for ways to increase my hairs volume, usually by buying hair care products! After my cut with Danielle I noticed my styling time cut in half and my hair looks fuller simply from the amazing cut she gave me. She also did a treatment on my hair to create more volume which worked for the first two weeks. I highly recommend paying her a visit, you won't be disappointed!

a great haircolorist. I really like Susana! She is an AMAZING color specialist. I will continue going to her always. Her energy is amazing and she always delivers a complete haircolor, no rush, with conditioning. I never feel like they have overbooked her and I never wait. However, there can sometimes be a bad vibe in the rest of the place.you get to see them while your hair is cookin' A little bitchy at times, and stressful...Glad to be in the back room most of the time with Susana and having personal space! I don't understand the extreme hype. Honestly, I think some of the citysearch reviews are written by management.

A Great Little Salon, They Take Their Time!. I just found this place. I will go back because unlike some of the salons in Manhattan, this place was not snobby and I felt so comfortable here.

Ishmael (spelling?) was friendly and did an amazing, meticulous job on my hair color (which happened to take forever but it never seemed like he was rushing me or worried about the time...)

Danielle then gave me an absolutely awesome haircut. Thank you Two Do! I will be back.

A cool salon in a cool neighborhood. I've gone to TwoDo for haircuts, facials and waxing, and it's always been a great experience. Sasha is super-creative and always gives me a stunning cut. Joanne (my esthetician) is very gentle and precise and sweet. They both truly enjoy making me look good. Actually that's the vibe I get from the whole salon: friendly, low-key, professional, excited about their work.

I never feel I'm being pushed to buy anything, but the minute I ask about a product, everyone knows exactly what to recommend to me and why (for my skin or hair type, etc.). You feel like you're in very capable hands with these guys, which is nice because other places have this kind of factory feel – like they're churning you down an assembly line. But at TwoDo the people always have time to answer questions and discuss beauty regimens and whatever.

It's a cute space, too, with hand-picked art on the walls – I always feel like I'm sneaking into some private hideaway or little club. It seems to be part of a really cool, evolving neighborhood along Amsterdam.

I recommend the place to friends and out-of-towners alike, and a few of my recommendations have turned into regulars. Some people want more fireworks with their salon experience, so this won't be for them. But for a nice chill experience and quality "me" time, this is great place to get yourself fixed up.
