Worked well for me. I had to pick up a pile of art in LIC and after doing all the math -- car rental, zipcar, etc. This was easily the best combination of cost, service and convenience. Maybe I could have saved a few dollars (it was $35 + tip) if I had rented a zipcar, but when I consider parking, etc..this one worked. I will certainly try them again.

Just awful - really incompetent. Arriving after a very long international flight, no sign of New Family. The last thing we needed to do was make long phone calls but after contacting them we learned the driver had been given the WRONG TERMINAL and the WRONG PHONE NUMBER for us. He was unable to contact us or meet us. What a hassle. I so wish I had just taken a cab. There's a flat fare of $45 plus tolls from JFK (it's written inside the cab) and another time I will definitely do this rather than bother with this lot who charge twice the price and are twice the hassle.

Use Someone Else!. Book them at your own risk, but especially DO NOT USE if you are traveling with a child and need a car seat. At the time I made my reservation I discussed the car seat and the woman assured me I would get the right one (New Family was more expensive than some of the other services I called but the woman I spoke actually put me on hold so she could check their car seat stock and answer my questions). The car showed up to take us to the airport, but it was a front-facing seat not even a rear facing seat like the one we discussed. I had to return to their office to pick up the right seat, all the while making us late for our flight. Once I chose a seat from their selection, drove back to my apartment to pick up my baby and buckled him in, we discovered that one of the rear seat belts was broken (read as completely unusable because it was missing the buckle.) The ride to the airport was uneventful...except for the fact that we were 30 minutes later than planned to make our flight and the driver took BOTH HANDS off the wheel about 4 or 5 times attempting to buckle his seat belt (while we were on the highway and crossing a bridge). On top of that, the driver made up a price that was different than quoted but my husband and I were stressed and late and just happy we got there safely that we didn't feel like arguing. Upon calling the manager, he seemed less than concerned about everything and offered a discount that only covered the difference in what we were quoted--apparently nothing about the disregard for safety phased him. The Rating Scale above made me choose one star, but they obviously don't even get that in my book. I have never written a review on something before, but I really feel the need to let families know about this.

great car service!!. Hi--I recently rented a limousine from New Family Car & Limo Service for a bachelorette party and we were extremely pleased with the service and the car. The driver couldnt have been nicer or more accommodating, and we actually were thrilled to have him through the night! He was on time for every stop and it was great knowing that we were being taken care of and safe so that we could enjoy drinking at all the different stops!! I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a reasonably priced car service for the evening!

bad service and attitudes. don't use this car service for corporate accounts. if you're going around the block its fine, but service is unproffesional, fleets are old, and the people in the office are rude. with all the car services in the city - i would steer clear of this one, unless, like i said this is up the street from you are too lazy or drunk to take the train and there are no yellow cabs around you're way. other than that, try an actual reputable car service with half way decent people.
