Yumminess!!!!. I don't care what the rest of these folks say, bu tI have been a patron here for over 20 years and the food is outstanding. I live in Brooklyn and I take 3 trains to get uptown for this food and it is worth the travel every time. The chicken should be a part of the one of the wonders of the world and the peruvian chicken with broccoli in black beans sauce is amazing. You must come here to be consider a real new yorker!!!

Not real Peruvian food. I am from Peru and I can tell you that if you are looking for ceviche mixto, this is not the place to order. I order over the phone and requested ceviche mixto which cost $11. When my food arrived I was very shock to see a small (6") plastic container filled with half onion 2 pieces of lime and 10 pieces of mix seafood.

Should I have expectation on the rest of the menu?

Just my opinion... good luck with your order.

An Hour Late and No Apology. I have had mixed experience with delivery from Flor De Mayo before but thought I'd give them another shot. After 40min without receiving my delivery order I gave a call and was told my order was on it's way. 20min later, I still didn't have my food. When I called back, all I got was an earful of excuses. I understand restaurants get busy, however, not giving any warning that your food will take over an hour to be delivered is unacceptable and without even an apology. If you want to actually eat, I suggest ordering from a different place.

Chicken me silly. It’s all about the chicken at this Peruvian restaurant with something of an identity crisis. No matter – the food, based around its delicious rotisserie chicken, known as “pollo de brasa,” certainly overcomes that issue. In fact, its not really a problem: the restaurant also offers Chinese, Spanish, and Caribbean cuisine. This might seem like an odd combination, but it works. A wide variety of dishes are available to go with the chicken; I would recommend the fried ripe or green plantains, which compliment the meat in a sweet or savory manner, respectively. They also offer Peruvian, Dominican and other regional beers, an ideal addition to cool you down with any such meal serving hot Latin fare. In addition, the portions are enormous, easily feeding two hungry diners, or yourself for two days. Nearly everything on the menu, especially the specials, like the chicken served in a pot with Peruvian green rice, are very affordable. Best of all, here you can impress your friends – or a date – with your trilingual abilities by speaking to the staff in Chinese, Spanish, and English. Buen Provecho/Enjoy!

Best food for your buck!. I am amazed that some people would write bad reviews about this place. First of all this is not fine dining but is a neighborhood spot that does a hell of a job when it comes to cooking great. The service is just as good as any other place. The peruvian dishes are delicious and price accordingly. Being in the food business myself, I can confirm that the prices are cheap and that the cooks do a superb job at their skill level. Of course everything is not done the tradiotional way as one person commented for example the paella and the broiled shrimps were not good along with the service. We must rememver that everyone has their own personal touch in any dish they create. If you want repetition well just walk in to Mcdonalds where food is always the same and if you want fine service then go to Per Se.

We need more places like this one were we can count on the cooks putting the right amount of salt and seasoning on the food or just cooking the rice correctly. I am happy with this place and I am a loyal customer. If you want decent food at a decent price then this is your place!
