I you're looking for a place to "hang your hat," look no further. They have all the makings of a down to earth, no bull**** kinda bar. With ten beers on tap, snacks, a good jukebox & sports on the t.v.'s, what more could you ask for? Drink specials? Yep, every day, plus $2.00 pints of Coors Light all the time. Dart supplies? We have those too; & if you're looking for a competitive game, some of the best players in the city practise here. Now add the wry wit of the bartenders, along with the company of good friends, & you'll never want to leave.

The Scene
The management of this modest Irish pub may have changed over the years, but the decor and most of the clientele hasn't. A motley assortment of barflies, local codgers and low-key hipsters drink and mingle as the Cranberries or the Pogues play in the background. The heavy wooden furniture looks like it was stolen from a Catholic school, multiple TVs perpetually play sports, and in the back a lone dartboard hangs below a huge, model airplane. A snarling stuffed boar's head and a fish tank with actual live fish complete the scenery.
The Draw
Habitués come for cheap drafts and laid-back conversation, although this isn't a good place to get picked up unless you want to flirt with men who look like your grandfather. In addition to alcohol, the bar sells a stunning assortment of Utz potato chips and T-shirts and thongs emblazoned with its name.

The sweet potato chips are absolutely perfect. The beer selection is world-wide. If you get there early, you will avoid the crowd. Seven screens for the sport fans. Neighbourly and pleasant. Unpretentious with excellent service.

Well, at least they've only spiffed up the exterior...the interior is still the same grungy old place to get a very good whisky sour (my first here was at age 16 as a Columbia freshman). Classic!

It's been about 13 years since I've frequented the Broadway Dive - but the memories are still brand new! We were broke tourists. The manager then was Dave. He was the best host ever and the locals became fast friends. Dave even gave us a room in his apartment and introduced us to all of his friends in the equally great and friendly Cannon's bar - a couple of blocks away. Unfortunately we lost touch with Dave so if anyone knows where Dave is now please let us know - we're going back to NY in Nov 2008 and would love to catch up!
