Tips for Broadway Dive Bar

You'll find truth in advertising at the Upper West Side's humble hole-in-the-wall.. The Scene
The management of this modest Irish pub may have changed over the years, but the decor and most of the clientele hasn't. A motley assortment of barflies, local codgers and low-key hipsters drink and mingle as the Cranberries or the Pogues play in the background. The heavy wooden furniture looks like it was stolen from a Catholic school, multiple TVs perpetually play sports, and in the back a lone dartboard hangs below a huge, model airplane. A snarling stuffed boar's head and a fish tank with actual live fish complete the scenery.

The Draw
Habitués come for cheap drafts and laid-back conversation, although this isn't a good place to get picked up unless you want to flirt with men who look like your grandfather. In addition to alcohol, the bar sells a stunning assortment of Utz potato chips and T-shirts and thongs emblazoned with its name.

Neighborhood bar.. When I started going to this bar, I did not know anyone. Due to a busy schedule, I was only able to come in every few months, but amazingly the bartender remembered my name and drink preferences. Over the course of my visits I have gotten to know some of the regulars, and I see several of them each time I go in. This really is an old neighborhood bar with an incredible atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
