the best!!. one of the last great booksellers left in Manhattan... great service... a well-informed staff... incomparable sales... I have to take the subway to get there but it's worth the trip

The inviting array of mainstream books is only surpassed by the extraordinary selection of new and remaindered academic titles.. In Short
The high-ceilinged first floor features literary fiction and books about New York culture and history. Follow the shelves up the stairs, but don't get dizzy and fall back down when you realize that all of these books are discounted remainders. And take a deep breath when you reach the top, because you'll be faced with several large tables with even more remaindered titles on every discipline of thought imaginable.

More Hits than Misses. If you're looking for something in particular, Labyrinth can be a trifle sketchy -- but only because your expectations are higher at this crossover bookstore than they'd be at a B&N or Borders. And there's a great serendipitous wealth of books to be found here in the sale stacks. Definitely worth a browsing trip uptown.
