Terrible Hotel Would Not Recommend to Anyone. 1/2 OF A STAR HOTEL DOESNT DESERVE A FULL STAR....I FELT LIKE I WAS STAYING IN A MOTEL THE ROOMS ARE TERRIBLE, NO WI-FI AVAILABLE, ONLY 8 CHANNELS WORK, NO MOVIE CHANNLS, FIRST TIME IN NY THIS HOTEL MADE IT A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I WILL NEVER STAY IN A "DAYS INN HOTEL" THE CONCIERGE SERVICE WAS RACIST WELL NOT EVERY1 BUT (OSCAR) WAS TERRIBLE, HE WOULD TALK TO YOU AS IF U WERE 1 OF HIS "HOMIES" AND SHOULD BE FIRED, NO CELL SERVICE,(SPRINT) NO MICROWAVE IN THE ENTIRE BUILDING, NO FIDGERATOR, 1 ICE MACHING IN THE ENTIRE BUILDING, THE ONLY THING GOOD ABOUT THIS HOTEL IS THE ROOM SERVICE...THEY'RE HONEST RELIABLE PEOPLE AND WONT STEAL ANYTHING...OSCAR AND THE OTHER MEXICAN (MARIO & LUIGI PEOPLE CALLED THEM) CALLED THE POLICE ON 1 OF THE HOTEL PATRONS EVEN AFTER THEY SHOWED HIM PROOF OF RESIDING IN THE HOTEL....TERRIBLE SERVICE TOO MUCH OF THE NEW YORK ATTITUDE, IT FEELS LIKE THEIR MIND SET WAS CUSTOMER NEED US, WE DONT NEED CUSTOMERS... THE LADIES WERE VERY CORDIAL & PROFEESIONAL, I ADVISE NO 1 TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL THEY'RE CHEAPER ARE BETTER ONE AT THE SAME PRICE RATE

$400 per night for THIS?. Booked a room for my folks for my dad's birthday. No hangers in the closets, and nobody could bring hangers that would hang on the rail. The reading lamps were broken. There are exposed steam heat pipes on the floor close to the bed, and dad burned his foot badly. Here's the kicker--I went ahead of time and paid for the room, as it was for dad's birthday, and I asked specifically that he NOT know how much was being spent on him. The clerk said that would be fine. Damned if when my folks were checking out, the desk didn't hand them unbidden MY receipt and credit card slip. These people are happy to take your money, but damned if they're going to give you anything for it.

Loads of style at great rates.. The Scene
Given the moderate rates at this just-off-Broadway hotel, the lobby certainly makes guests question if they've landed in the right place. It boasts glimmering chandeliers, dark wood walls, a professional staff and clocks set to the times in New Delhi and Tokyo. After a day of exploring at the nearby Natural History Museum, Central Park or the Children's Museum of Manhattan, this property is a welcome respite in the heart of "Seinfeld Land."

The Details
The 365 sizable rooms are filled with the usual amenities--cable TV, hair dryers, coffee makers and air conditioning. You'll also find ironing boards, safety deposit boxes and refrigerators (on request). There is, however, no food service here. But who needs it when so many superb restaurants are just steps away?

Good for the price. I always read these reviews when I am trying to decide on a hotel during my frequent stays in NYC. I am always on a tight budget and my only real requirement in a hotel is that I have my own private bathroom. I stayed here in August of 2002 and in March of 2003 and was satisfied with my stay. Rooms are VERY small but clean and the staff is very friendly. Subway is literally right downstairs and there is a near diner around the corner. Safe area and I recommend it for people who don't need a lot of space. A word of advice..check the hotels website for the best deals. That's where I booked my stay and got a great deal in March at only $85!

Big disappointment. First, we didn't have a remote control for the television, then we got greeted with a non-English speaking janitor at midnight, telling us through broken English to try one of three remotes to see which one will work. The lobby is small and ugly, and service is substandard. Also, there are few places to eat in the neighborhood, relatively speaking. Plus, it's the worst cable tv stations known to man. Also, a leak in the heater that saoked the carpet.
