I usually go to a place on Amsterdam, about the same cheap price ($7) but it's always so crowded, so I wanted to try KW. It's just a manicure right? DEAR GOD, I've never ever seen such poor technique. There were utterly empty, yet the girl doing my manicure rushed the entire job. She was puzzled why I had to remind her to buff my left hand's nails, after I had just cut myself right there realizing they had razor sharp edges. My paint job had bubbles all over, and spilled over into my fingers but she shoddily tried to wipe it off. The icing on the cake was they speak Chinese... and so do I, but I speak to them in English so I can hear what they talk about unabashedly. Either they were complaining about other customers asking for extra work like evening out nail edges, or the fact that my porky-shaped manicurist hadn't gotten her dinner yet and that she had to do all the work while the other girls got to read magazines (remind yourself I wasn the ONLY one there). HORRIBLE, this place should have their license revoked if they aren't already fake.

I went to this place based on a recommendation from someone in the neighborhood. I will never go back. The manicurist cut my cuticles too far, they stung for days later, she didn't even take all the hand lotion off the nails, and scoffed when I asked her to go back over them with the remover. She rushed the paint job and they chipped a day later. I will never go back there again. $7 is not worth a crappy manicure. I would rather pay $12 and go elsewhere.
