I actually wanted to write this review because I also use Helen B. Atkinson center and I just wanted to respond to the woman (Cherry something I believe) who said she waited over 2 hours and people came in after and were seen and she was thinking maybe it's because she is not African American. Well she should worry because I'm African American and my experience there is always the same. It's just seems like that is the culture of these free clinics. Renaissance Health Care is the same way and I could even name others. There is no such thing as an appointment in at free clinics is seems and when you go you should expect it so that you are not angry (that bit of infor is for everyone, not just that lady). Hope you have better experiences in the future.
Pros: Doctors are great.

i understand that this is a free clinic to those without health insurance. but even when i made an appointment, they had me wait over 2 hours to get test results. i was emotionally distressed because i had no idea what my test results would be like and no one (not even a doctor i asked for help) wouldn't/couldn't handle it. also, i saw several people who came in after me were seen before me. i was literally the last person to be seen. they serve mostly african americans and i'm not one. why else would they have me wait over 2 hours to tell me that i have high cholesterol??? it was completely ridiculous. i still don't have insurance because i'm between jobs, but i'm never going back there again. nyc has many more free clinics and this is one of the worst i've experienced.
