A group of us were celebrating a birthday and looking forward to fabulous views and fine dining. A couple of us had checked the website beforehand and noted the prix fixe dinner for $45. When we inquired we were first told there was no prix fixe, then we were told that it was $55, and then we were told that it only included "chicken" (uttered in disgust) and not the other items mentioned on the website. We chose a bottle of white wine from the wine list for $36 and enjoyed it enough to ask for another. We were then told that there was a "mistake" on the wine list and were shown the same page but with the $36 crossed out and $45 written in. They said they would charge us the lower price for the first bottle but that they would charge the higher "correct" price for a second bottle! As far as the food was concerned, the asparagus appetizer was okay, but the guinea hen I ordered at $36 for the entree was beyond overcooked and inedible. However, two of our group enjoyed their fish, and the blueberry cobbler was pretty good. Oh yeah, gorgeous views. But the disdain that I felt from the staff after we inquired about the prix fixe dinner was unsettling. With "prices in the sky" at Terrace in the Sky one expects hospitable and attentive service and exceptional food - not the overpriced, mediocre food served by snobs. I don't know what happened to Terrace in the several years since I was last there (and had nice dining experiences), but I'm not going back.
Pros: nice view
Cons: switcheroos on menu prices, snobbish service, overpriced mediocre food

We had a tiny wedding scheduled for Saturday June 14th and from the beginning had communication problems with their event planner. We paid for 1/2 hour of passed hors'deouvres (6 hot, 4 cold) and we didn't get all of them - we were supposed to have wait staff for the drinks - it took my husband 15 minutes to track someone down to get him a cocktail. The food was good - however, I thought a wedding cake was included and we never saw one!. The air conditioning was not on for part of the time, my daughter had to ask them to keep it on, it was so muggy in the Greenhouse room. It was NOT a great experience and we would not reccomend having an event there.
Pros: The views are among the best in the City
Cons: The service is awful and the indifference unconscionable
