The Scene
Like many of the best used bookstores, Last Word has a slightly cave-like atmosphere. As you step down past its entryway (once you've perused the tables outside, of course), it may not impress at first blush, but keep going back and you could be delightfully surprised at what you find there.
On the Shelves
Last Word balances on that fine line between mammoth used bookstores that overwhelm with their maddeningly disorganized bounty and smaller stores that frustrate with their eclectic but incomplete selections. In addition to the well-rounded array of classic/popular fiction and non-fiction, there's an impressive collection of hardcover first editions, many of them autographed.
