Editorial Review for Biscuits and Bath – by Minya Quirk

In Short
Biscuits and Bath is a full-service pet day care center, dog walking service and grooming center all rolled into one. At any of its four locations, you can drop Fifi off for a day of playing with other purebreds. And with grooming services like hot oil treatments and brush outs, you know the emphasis is on pampering. Classes help pups learn to behave and even teach old dogs new tricks.

Other reviewers of this service have been harsh, but I find the staff friendly, and have noticed our dog returns their affection as they say goodbye. During his three day stay I was called daily with updates, and when I had a question I was put through to the location right away, and got an informed response. It's pricey - but that's what you would expect in Manhattan. After the overnight - his first - our pet was tired, but that seemed due to the stimulation of being around other dogs (which he adores). I actually think the employees are remarkably engaged given how grueling their jobs (and how demanding their clients) must be.

I entrusted the care of my two dogs at Biscuits and Bath for daycare. 10 days ago, one of my dogs was severely bitten during day care at Biscuits and Bath. She suffered puncture wounds to her thigh. Biscuits and Bath did not notify me that there had been an issue and as a result, the wound went unnotice for 3 days, until my dog had licked all of the hair around the puncture wounds off. As a result, she had to undergo surgery to remove necrotic tissue from the wound as well as 6 stitches. PLEASE, PLEASE do not entrust the care of your dogs to Biscuits and Bath. They are irresponsible, negligent, and provide horrible customer service. To add insult to injury, the manager at the center we go to replied to my concerns as follows: "That's why we have the sign up that reads play at your own risk". Can you imagine, having your dog be severely bitten after paying $1000 a month for day care and then paying for a $1200 unnecessary surgery, to have the manager say that to you? Save yourselves the time, money, and retain your peace of mind.......... DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS TO BISCUITS AND BATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: NONE

Cons: Irresponsible, Negligent, Rude, Disorganized
