“love Biscuits and will continue to use them-- I hope this review helps other doggy parents to feel comfortable bringing their dogs to this fun play space!”
“This is the best day care place in NYC.”
“called to ask about the discrepancy and was rudely told that the first time was a "puppy price" and they could go back and charge my account the full price.”
“Dogs are walked regularly and the staff are friendly and interact with the animals.”
“All in all, this was the most expensive and sad learning experience and I just want to forewarn all other dog owners to stay away from Biscuits and Bath.”
“The assistant manager Anthony was rude and very quick to mention that it wasn't their fault (leaving a dangerous pit in with the dogs isn't their fault?”
Our Coonhound, Abigail has been coming
to Biscuits & Bath for about a year now. After graduating Puppy Kindergarten at the Park Ave location she moved on to daycare at the upper east side location.
I cannot say enough great things about the staff. They know each dog by name and the attention that they give is amazing. They always go above and beyond to care for and keep these pups (and their owners) happy. Abigail attends three, sometimes four days per week and whenever we get about a block away I almost can't keep up with her! As it is in their nature to be part of a pack, it makes great sense for us to bring Abby to B & B, to play, run and engage with other dogs rather than having her stay home, alone while we are at work.
Thank you Dave, James, Laurel, Bianca, Kayle, Malika, Will. I truly believe Abigail is a happier pup because of you!
My dog has been at Biscuits & Bath on the Upper East side for four months. We took advantage of the three free days and it was love at first site. She can't wait to get there, and If I turn in the other direction to just take her for a walk, she yanks on the leash for me to turn toward Biscuits and Bath. The staff is extremely supportive, friendly and professional. Their concern for the dog, and the attention and love they give her is wonderful. They are flexible with hours and pick-up and drop-off times and do their best to give you a package you can afford. My only hope is that someday they will offer half day packages. We are there two days a week and both she and I count the minutes in between, when she can once again visit and play her with her friends!
I've been bringing my dog, Artie, to Biscuits and Bath on 1st Avenue since October. He absolutely loves going. The closer we get to the building the faster his tail wags. He's always excited to be dropped off and always excited when we pick him up. I did a lot of reading this summer about dogs and how they have an innate need to be part of a pack. I'm so glad I decided to go with daycare instead of leaving him at home while I'm at work. It gives me peace of mind and let's me relax at the end of the day with my dog instead of feeling like I need to take him to the dog park or entertain him! It's a win/win situation.
The staff at Biscuits and Bath on First Avenue are phenomenal and have taken very good care of my Boston Terrier. I initially visited B&B for their Thursday evening free puppy play group and got a great feeling about the facilities and the staff right away. Since then, my dog has spent many days playing with her pals at Biscuits and Bath and always pulls the leash as we get closer. Just some of the fantastic folks that work at B&B include James, Bianca, Casey, Malika, Nichole and Tito. They all know my dog by name and welcome her the instant she walks in. A great place in the neighborhood.
I initially brought my pup here for
training and was offered a free trial for day care. I work from home so wasn't really in the market for it, but figured hey, free trial.
My pup had SO much fun there with the staff and the other dogs. The staff kept me updated on her "friendships" with the other pets, play behavior, etc and were great about working with me on training issues to ensure she had consistency. Their prices are great and when I had a late night emergency they were able to board on short notice and didn't even charge me for the full stay.
My only issue is sometimes I think my dog doesn't want to go home!
Um, they starved my dog. She has a monthly package and was there from morning until night and they "couldn't find her tupperware" which has the food I bring from home, so, instead of giving me a call or feeding her their food, she didn't eat. At all. Obviously the logical, humane choice. When I asked the manager whom I was told was in charge, she chalked it up to a "misunderstanding" and hung up on me because she didn't appreciate my "angry tone" Hmh... what would it say about me as a dog owner if I were pleasant? Not to mention she was put in a 20 minute "time out" for mounting a dog (mind you she's a puppy and 20 minutes goes against everything her trainer and I have taught her.) The "customer care" team are great pacifiers and say all the right things (i.e. I'm sorry, this should never have happened) but I have yet to see changes or results. I'm obviously a busy person or my dog wouldn't be in daycare (not that she is EVER going back there) but, for the well-being of all dogs (keep in mind these are only the incidents I am aware of- who knows what else might be going on) when i am free I will address this inhumane treatment. In the mean time, I know it's expensive (hey, it got me!) spend a few extra dollars and look around. Biscuits in Bath is the WalMart of doggy daycare.
Wonderful Dog Care.
We have taken our puppy to Biscuits and Bath for one month now on their puppy promotion. At first we were unsure if daycare was right for our puppy, but all of our doubts were gone once we saw how happy he was there. As soon as we walk in the staff greet him by his first name and he is clearly excited to be there. No sooner do I give the leash over, he pulls them over to the door leading to the play room to be able to join all the other dogs.
The facility is kept extremely clean and the staff seems very attentive to the all the dogs. We even received a video from Biscuits and Bath where they filmed our puppy playing with another dog.
The cost of the daycare is expensive, but they are more than willing to talk with you about the different packages they offer and find something that you can work with. I was on the phone for over an hour going over various options and ways to save money on the packages. It was really nice that they were willing to spend that kind of time with me to make sure that I was happy and that we were getting the right package for our budget. It is still expensive, but worth the money. Some of the less expensive days care places that we looked into put your dog in a small back room with no vet supervision and limited staff--it is not worth saving the extra money.
We are very happy with Biscuits and Bath, it gives our pup the freedom to play and socialize as well as provides us with peace of mind that while we are at work or away for the day, our dog is being looked after and is well taken care of.
A Great Place for Dogs. The people at the UES Biscuits & Bath really love dogs and it shows. Whether our dog goes there for day care or to board, they go out of their way to make him feel welcome and to make us feel comfortable. When we're away, they call us, daily, to tell us how our dog is doing, and if he's not eating well they go out of their way to try to get him to eat; including buying him chicken or ice cream. Before we selected Biscuits & Bath we checked out all of the other doggie day care facilities on the UES and none compared. B&B has lots of room, they keep the place really clean, and they take great care of the dogs.
Are you kidding me.
I do not believe for a minute any of these positive responses, I think every time a real review is made they have a friend or relative write a good review. My dog was brought in and received a big gash on her face, she also got whooping cough that we later found out they knew existing at the upper eastside location but did not inform us.
My wife refused to pay. That was in 2005. My bank called 3 weeks ago to tell me there was a freeze on $500.00 on my account. I found out it was because Biscuits and bath had a judgement against me. I called and was told they would get back to me. I did not hear back so i called Greg the controller, he said he would call me right back. That was a week ago. This morning my Car was towed by the Marshall due to this judgement of $500.00, seems a lot for a bath and a days stay but thats besides the point. I will now tell as many peopler as I possibly can about how Bad Biscuits and bath is. That will back this all worth while.
Dog daycare. I've been taking my 2 year old Golden Retriever there since he was 8 weeks old. Everyone has always been great and always try to be accommodating. Cooper has stayed many nights there and days there and I always feel very safe Leaving him there. He seems to love everyone who works there and is always excited to see the staff. I would not have been able to have Cooper with out B and B.
