Great Sunday Brunch. Wanted dim sum brunch but not the crowds in Chinatown so tried Our Place. No steaming carts but you ordered from the menu and they steamed everything fresh to order. Service was polite and attentive. Quiet spot and great no-too-crowded dining room.

WHAT HAPPENED!. It use to be a very good restaurant but our last experience was horrible ! The food was outstandingly bad and we could not eat any of it. They did not care if we ever came back and they were rude. The food was disgusting!

Absolute worst dining experience ever! Offensive waiter.. Let me preface this by saying that I am as low maintenance a customer as they come. I have much sympathy for wait staff and rude obnoxious customers. I try to be as nice as possible to my server and have never complained about poor service.

A female friend and I walked in today at 2:57. We had seen the menu outside.with lunch specials until 3. The waiter gave us a dim sum menu instead and said the outside, cheaper menu was invalid (bait and switch anyone?). Fine, I asked to order the lunch special and the waiter said it was past 3:00. I told him it was exactly 3:00, not exactly pressing the issue. He leaves in a huff, comes back and says ok. I asked for chicken with cashews with soup and roll and an extra dim sum dish of spring rolls. He goes to the kitchen and returns 10 minutes later. My friend orders a soup and the waiter sneers and says that she should just take my soup (to imply that I'm cheap). I do my best to ignore it and we order dim sum. He tells us that dim sum is NOT being served after 3, never mind that he gave us the dim sum menu at 3. 10 minutes later, the lady next to my table orders dim sum and he writes it down. Unfreakingbelievable. He then proceeds to IGNORE MY TABLE for the next 30 minutes. So the two of us are stuck there eating one lunch special with an extra spring roll (picture showed 2, they gave us 1). Note that there were THREE tables occupied in the restaurant (out of 20) at this time and he was waiting on TWO of them. The other waiter was far more polite (at least not outright offensive). I will NEVER go within 2 blocks of this restaurant again. The guy obviously had an attitude problem. I've never NOT TIPPED in protest but this time I wanted to create a scene about his rudeness. I bit my tongue, dropped $2 on the table for our $12.70 bill and walked out.

There is no way they will see a single penny from me again. We shouldn't feel obligated to tip; tipping used to be for good service.

Amazing chinese!. Our Place was awesome. The service was incredibly, we barely waited a minute after ordering for our appetizers to come out. When they did, the won tons blew us away! The mango chicken is so light and delicious. The portions are huge, we figured we would have left overs for days but the food was so good that we ate all of it! I can't wait to go back.

Wonderful experience. This food is excellent. I have absolutely no complaints. The service was perfect, the food was delicious, and the wait time for none.

I highly recommend you try this upscale chinese restaurant.

Good Food. Delivery time was ok, food was good, my GF especially liked the chicken fried rice, I enjoyed the Chicken and Broc but thought the Dumplings were a bit undercooked.

Upper East Siders' go-to for Chinese to go.. The Scene
This Upper East Side Chinese restaurant attempts to separate itself from Chinatown cliches like musty fish tanks, opting instead for refined woodwork, horse sculptures set in boxes and overhanging glass lamps. In fact, the only tropes that remain are stiffly formal chairs and too-bright lighting. A multitude of black-tied waiters enthusiastically serve the neighborhood-heavy clientele, while a takeout counter sequestered to the side does brisk business.

The Food
The menu parallels the decor's upmarket ambitions, with admirable presentation--radishes get shaped into flowers--and prices to match. A tender but tiny scallop and ginger appetizer impresses, tangy barbecue spare ribs satisfy (without reaching Chinatown heights) and fried pork dumplings, though slightly dry, pack meaty flavor. No need to veer to the Chef's Specials, like the Crispy Palace Prawns covered with a too-sweet glaze or the rack of lamb, perfectly cooked but undone by a salty garlic sauce that overwhelms the meat's naturally robust flavor.

Good Dim Sum, but no comparison to Chinatown. Our Place's food was pretty good. Their Dim Sum selection is fairly extensive. We ordered a few dim sim dishes, one was excellent (seafood with mushrooms) while the other two were just ok (shrimp rice crepes and pork shumai). If you don't want to go all the way to Chinatown this place is pretty good. However it does not compare to Chinatown in any respect. Several places in Chinatown have better food, more extensive menus and much better prices.

Still the best. I have lived in Yorkville all of my life and for the last 17 years Our Place has been

my favorite chinese restaurant. They catered my sweet sixteen and many years

later I hosted my father's 60th birthday party there. Everyone raved over the food.

It's as tasty now as it was all those years ago and I still have cravings for my

favorite dishes just by walking past it's doors. Their BBQ ribs, sesame chicken or crysanthemum beef make me happy every time.

Even their delivery is fresh and hot.

For a fabulous meal, Our Place is definitely my choice.
