In Short
As light and airy as a country farmhouse, the simple decor and pine furnishings radiate rustic ambience. Local sophisticates gather at a long communal table, while couples sneak away to private seats in back. The menu features salads, soups and house-specialty tartines (open-face sandwiches) with fillings like imported French ham, duck pate, Gruyere cheese and Scottish smoked salmon. For a snack, a colorful fruit tart pairs well with a two-fisted mug of aromatic coffee.

I work in this neighborhood and this is one of the few places I liked to get lunch from, except after several visits I simply can't go in here anymore. At lunchtime it's complete chaos (for take-out; admittedly I haven't eaten in the dining area); there is no system for ordering, paying, or actually receiving your food. It's impossible to tell which group of confused people is waiting to sit and which is waiting to order take-out. The take-out counter staff are friendly but disorganized and confused and since there's no real place to form a line, patrons can't tell if the mess of people has ordered, has paid, or is still waiting to order (subsequently you get a lot of line cutting). The food takes ages to come out and people are constantly asking if their order is ready, thinking they have been forgotten. This is sad because the food is great; the lunch tartines are big and wholesome, and the baked goods are sinful and delicious. I think wait here to be seated, order here, and pick up food here signs would make a world of difference in getting this place in shape.
