Editorial Review for Back Page – by Julie Mehta
The Scene
This colossal space has something of a split personality. During baseball playoffs or an NBA final, hordes of sports fan(atic)s are glued to the televisions above the bar. Off-nights, however, draw a decidedly laid-back local clientele seeking an alternative to the area's crowded pub scene. With an ample selection of brews, excellent wings and a jukebox jammed with Sinatra, Motown and classic rock tunes, this is an easy place to chill with friends.
The Draw
You'll find more than restrooms downstairs. Behind the unmarked door catty-corner to the kitchen is another ample-sized bar complete with pool table, air hockey and darts. The extra space, decorated with vintage baseball posters, holds spillover from upstairs on crowded nights.

I stumbled onto this site yesterday and am now making my round of reviews. Back Page has got to be THE best sports bar in the city in terms of sports broadcast, food, friendliness, service, and absolute knockout bartenders and waitstaff. Try the wings. It's no wonder they're rated one of the best in the city. I get a double order of the mild wings (I'm a weeny) everytime I'm there. That doesn't stop my friends from getting a triple order of the hot. I don't even want to start on the garlic bread when dipped in the wing sauce...AMAZING! Fantastic burgers. Get the french fries crispy...perfection. And when I want to watch my boyish figure I get the grilled chicken salad with spinach greens. I've been going there for years, all I can say to them with a big thumbs up is, "AAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!"
Pros: Laid-back. Fantastic service. Awesome food.
Cons: Staff is so beautiful to look at I sometimes miss the game.

The food is amazing!!!! If you're in the mood to be bad eat the nachos and the wings! They are off da' hook!!!!! Suirprisingly they even have food thats healthy, such as yummy salads and veggie burgers-for your veggie friends. The staff is even better, they are cool down to earth chicks, that are all super-friendly and not to mention pretty hot. If you go in there more than once you are bound to get to know them, and are welcomed like a best friend the next time you come in. if you ask for a specific game they will put it on for you, which is cool. Oh yeah, the day time is great for cheap beer and lunch. three bucks for beer, not bad huh?
Pros: Great service, good food
Cons: overcrowded on game nights
