In Short – A hub for recent college grads and preppy young professionals, this dimly lit tavern gets loud and crowded. The two rooms are fitted as a simple tavern--in the front, black-and-white photos and mirrors cover the brick walls, while the back room offers a second bar, leather benches and velvet curtains. Televisions at all angles let sports fans leave their living rooms without missing the big games. The jeans-casual bar functions as both a pick-up spot and a place to gather with longtime friends. Parties and pairs sing along to the familiar lyrics of classic rock standards and…

Editor's Tips

The Extras:
Guests can rent out the room in the back for private parties.
Fun Fact:
The 2nd Avenue staple was immortalized in the popular contemporary novel "The Nanny Diaries," which characterized it as the go-to bar for frat-boy types looking to get wasted and then get lucky.
Food Served:
If music and mingling get a bit overwhelming, lose yourself in a full menu of pub grub like quesadillas, pastas and burgers, or a late-night breakfast of steak and eggs.

  1. Bartender and staff is very friendly as well.
  2. The owner is the nicest guy in the world and the staff are amazing as well.
  3. The bartenders are always friendly, often times remembering names of customers after only seeing them once and, generally, the people there know that they can let loose and not be judged.
  4. Case in point, in November and December, during the party season, when people show up in full formal regalia nightly.
  5. Little bartender in the back looks like Tom Cruise, wears pink pants and might be the best bartender in New York.
  6. Bartenders are so friendly and fun.

Aweful doorman and rediculous ownership

by 9ball

This place is a total joke. If you are a guy don't expect to be treated like a human. My buddy and I walked in the other night and were told we could not enter because we were wearing t-shirts. We looked around and saw many others wearing t-shirts so we told the doorman he must be kidding.he then said "you are too good looking and dont have breasts, The owner does not want good looking guys in here." We informed them that our girlfriends and four other girls were at a table waiting for us but they told us to leave. So we and six beautiful girls left and went across the street to J. Russells and had a great time. The owner and their staff are idiots. Please do yourself a favor and go anywhere else.

So so so so so much fun. Rock and roll in the big room, dance club in the back. Great music. Bartenders are so friendly and fun. Little bartender in the back looks like Tom Cruise, wears pink pants and might be the best bartender in New York.....ask for a 'touchdown' or for a bartending trick. Also alot of attractive people...hot guys and girls...tall hot guys and blonde girls. Drinks are not cheap and the line sucks big time. I

If you're a girl looking for hot, preppy guys, Dorian's is a must!

by nyc1girl

A few friends and I headed to Dorian's last Friday night and had the best time ever! It didn't get crowded until 10:30, but when we arrived there around 9:30, there was already a group at the bar and a few people sitting around the restaurant. It gets really crowded, and hands down, if you like preppy people, go here. The boys are super cute and the music is awesome-from recent hits, to Whitney Houston's 80's hits to 60's oldies like "Twist and Shout," and "Run Around Su." Boys-best to wear at least a nice collared shirt and girls, definitely go on a Friday and/or Saturday night, and I can guarantee a plethora of cute, corporate boys for you to choose from ;)

  • Pros: Preppy, great music, good service, hot people
  • Cons: Can feel awkward if you're not dressed up enough
