Leisurely brunch
by Caralinda
My sister, niece, my daughter, and I had Saturday brunch at Divino yesterday. Warmly welcomed by wait staff, we were immediately seated and ordered from the prix fixe weekend brunch menu. Three of us had substantial crisp garden salads and one had a shrimp cocktail for starters. Two of us ordered traditional brunch fare (eggs benedict), another a shrimp and avocado wrap, and another the eggplant rollatini. Food and drinks were served promptly. Servers were attentive and polite; even though a large party of about 20 arrived unexpectedly about midway through our meal, wait staff remained alert to our every need. Food was tasty, if uninspired, but our feeling of being unhurried even a tiny bit throughout our two-hour stay more than made up for that. We'll definitely return some time in the future to try dinner in this cozy, well-appointed restaurant.
So RUDE it still gives me the chills
by foodconnousieur
I went here a few weeks ago with my boyfriend and his parents, and I was APPALLED by how rude the servers were. Just so that we would leave them a tip, you would think they would AT LEAST be cordial to their guests. Not the mention that the food was, at best, mediocre. When I spoke to I guess either the manager or the owner, she too was just as unpleasant as her staff. No wonder they act like that, they are clearly taught that it's ok by their management! Well, even though I live in the neighborhood and love to eat out, I will never go back here, and I've already told all of my friends to do the same. I would prefer a lousy meal with polite, attentive service to this miserable place any day.
- Pros: near my house
- Cons: everything else
Divino's is Divine !
by cristinaconforto
After dining at Divino's a couple of times I decided to have my daughter's baptism there ...... and they did such an amazing job. The food was fantastic, the wait staff was very efficient. The owner really took care of us in every aspect. I would highly advise upon this restaurant.
This place is great for a first date ..... and on the weekend's they have entertainment.
- Pros: Great Food, Great Staff, Great Price
- Cons: Small Space, n/a, n/a
Nice Place
by zach2000
Good food and attentive service. A nice place to dine at your own pace. Not suitable for large parties but for a couple or a foursome it is ideal. Their risotto is world class. If you can, try to get Sal as your waiter.
- Pros: Food, Service
Live music?
by red74
If a man on a keyboard is your idea of great "live music", then this is the place for you. We were told by many people how wonderful this restaurant is, so we brought a group of 10 for dinner one Friday night. Disappointed isn't the word. They served our dinner family style (upon request)...which consisted of ONE small scoop of pasta and way too much fish and chicken. When we asked for more pasta, they replied, "sorry, we're out". What?? We were also quoted one set price and when the bill arrived it was almost double that! The food was very tasty, but everything else was just awful. Perhaps it's better in the fall/winter when the Hampton crowds are back in the city? I don't plan on finding out.
- Pros: tasty food
- Cons: overpriced, dishonest
