The Scene – This gay-owned-and-operated piano bar has thrived since the early 1980s, thanks to its talented staff and a friendly atmosphere in which regulars mingle effortlessly with first-time visitors. A bar seating 20 runs the length of the room on the left side, while a banquette runs all around the periphery of the room, which is filled out by round tables and chairs accommodating 40. At 9:30pm, a rotating roster of pianists accompanies the singing waitstaff. – – The Draw – Brandy's has earned its reputation as a "performance bar"--one that emphasizes…
So much fun

I went for a friend's birthday party on a Monday night. We got there at 10:30 and the place was about 3/4 full and we got a few tables. There is seating for about 50, bar/standing room for about 40. We had a waitress who was very fun, personable, and also a singer. We were treated by hearing songs from the other staff members and a few wonderful patrons. The whole atmosphere was low key and fun, like a great party where we're all in the living room crowded around the piano. Some of the music we heard - Your Song, Total Eclipse of the Heart, Me and Bobby McGee, Time After Time, Galileo, Georgia on My Mind, Midnight Train to Georgia, Seasons of Love, a Lynyrd Skynyrd medley, and even D*ck in a Box from SNL. It was a great evening.
Prices - Wine $7, Bud $5, Coke $3.50, Vodka Cran $8.
- Pros: Talented staff, sing-alongs, cozy
- Cons: limited seating
Great bar! Always fun live music
by Dancerj
My friends and I go here about once a week for the last 2 years. Everyone that works here sings, and there is live piano music every night. We always have a great time and they let us get up and sing sometimes. Good prices on their drinks too. If you are looking for a bar with fun, live entertainment, it's really the best in the area. We sing a lot of 80's songs. IT ROCKS!!!!
- Pros: Great Live Music!
- Cons: No food
AMAZING bar!! Live music and singers. Go have fun there!

I just moved into the area and stumbled by Brandy's and had no idea what it was. We were looking around the east side and went in. It's like a piano bar with someone playing all night and then the staff, bartenders and waittress sing too. We ended up getting up to sing Suddenly Seymour, we had a blast. It's not like Karaoke, they don't have the words, but they'll let you sing if you tip the pianist and know most of the words. We didn't plan on going, but we stayed till 3am! We will be back over and over again. The guys recognize us and treat us well, and we tip the pianist and singers well, so everyone wins!!! SO GLAD we found this place!! Haven't ever seen anyone be rude here, like someone here said, but then who goes into a bar expecting not to drink.....its a business, hello? Go in, order a couple of drinks and have a great time!!
- Pros: Fun music, great performers
- Cons: No food at all.
