Best Bar on the UES!. Brandy's is a total blast! My friends and I celebrate every occasion that requires music and alcohol at Brandy's Piano Bar. The staff is made up of some of the most extraordinary talent in the city. I have no idea how they tolerate some of the entitled idiots that sometimes frequent this little nook of a bar-but morons be damned...Brandy's rules!

All Good Things Come to An End. What happened to Brandy's? A few years ago this was such a fun place to go! The bartenders were friendly and the music was great. What a difference a few years can make...

The last couple of visits have been extremely dissapointing. The last couple of times the bartenders have been incredibly rude, even by New York standards.

Tonight was there with a friend for her birthday. Her boyfriend ordered her some champagne to celebrate - he paid for her drink and then started digging into his pocket to grab a couple of dollars for the tip - within 5 seconds the bartender began screaming asking for his $**#(@^ tip and continued ranting explatives at my friend and her boyfriend for 2 minutes thereafter. Our group hung around for a few minutes longer, but my friend was unable to enjoy her champagne as the bartender had succeeded in draining all the joy from what had been a great birthday until that point. Thanks for an awful night we won't soon forget Brandy's!

Will Never Go Back!!!! Wait-staff Rudest in NYC. The last two times I've visted Brandy's I've been appauled by the rudeness of the waitstaff and bartenders. Tonight was the final straw in which my friend, on her birtheday, was chewed out (3 f bombs) for delaying putting her tip down at the bar. The last time we were here the waitress was also very rude and pushy.

Will never go back - they've hired some people who clearly have no idea what customer service is. We came to have a great time and they ended up ruining the night.

We will take our business to another piano bar.

HORRIBLE!. It was extremely crowded. The wait staff was very rude, and one threatened to start a fight with us.

A diamond in the rough!. I loved this place! Shows start at 9:30. Get there a few mintues early for choice of seat. It's tight but a lot of fun. I didn't even notice it was Gay/Lesbian even when the showtunes started. If you love music, you'll love this place. The crowd is a great mix of people. Drinks are affordable. Dress is casual.

A fun and entertaining night!. What a great time we had! The staff all sang and the music was great. Drinks aren't very expensive, either. They even have a CD that we bought. Everything was great!

The performing waitstaff and loyal regulars give this Upper East Side cabaret space a friendly, neighborhood feel.. The Scene
This gay-owned-and-operated piano bar has thrived since the early 1980s, thanks to its talented staff and a friendly atmosphere in which regulars mingle effortlessly with first-time visitors. A bar seating 20 runs the length of the room on the left side, while a banquette runs all around the periphery of the room, which is filled out by round tables and chairs accommodating 40. At 9:30pm, a rotating roster of pianists accompanies the singing waitstaff.

The Draw
Brandy's has earned its reputation as a "performance bar"--one that emphasizes professional entertainment over open mikes and sing-alongs. The pianists, bartenders and servers are veterans from Broadway, musical theater and cabaret. Their choice of material is as eclectic and varied as their resumes.

Great for Straights too. Great place. Lot's of fun. Never felt out of place. Singing waitresses/bartenders and the occasional audience troubador.
