“good place”
Take a photo, cuz probably won't be there when you get back.. I found the photos posted above in a lost roll of film from the spring of 2002. I can see why I took the photos- classic looking Irish bar, classic Optimo smoke shop sign. I never went to either of these places when I lived there, but thought it would be cool to see what the corner looks like now. Guess what, you can't. There's some stupid upper east side restaurant there now. Do Google Street View and you'll see what I mean. It's amazing to see how in just a short time, only 8 years, how the city changes. It's always been the city of change, yet some things definitely don't change for the better. Another corner of vice and cheer lost to eternity. Will anyone remember? Does anyone care? All the drunken nights that corner must have seen. To the New York that had a little more character. Cheers.
good place. When I lived on E 85th, I spent alot of time here and at the old gaf, and I loved both of them. I was on the upper east side in february, and was sad to see the gaf had moved, but still enjoyed Fitzpatricks the same as I did ten years ago.
