“The elegant carriage-shaped cake (for 75 people!)”
“If cusromer service doesn't amtter to you and you like paying high prices for less then perfect service then this is place for you.”
Dry, tasteless, overpriced cakes.
I found this bakery online, made an appointment for wedding cake consultation. I had to pay $50 even though on their website it's posted that the first consultation is free.
After the 5-10 min meeting with an employee at a small table in the middle of the store I was given a small piece of cake to take with me home. Neither I, neither my fiance liked the cake. The worst red velvet cake we've ever tasted, dry artificial flavor. Just the red color was right.
Overpriced, bad quality, unprofessional staff.
great cakes but pray for no problems. the cakes at make my cake is delicious however the service is terrible and please never order over the phone because they never explain their policies however if you cancel there is always different policies and the manager is never around to talk to ...So yes the service there is not very professional. All business should explain their policies over the phone since the person is not in the store to view it...when the manager finally get back to you she also has a very unprofessional attitude
BEST CAKE IN TOWN. I LOVE MAKE MY CAKE IN THE PAST 3YRS I'VE ORDERED 17 CAKES FROM THEM IN I JUST PUT IN 2 MORE THIS MONTH...........THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THE WORKERS THEY ARE VERY RUDE AND THEY TEND TO CREW UP ORDERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The best red velvet - NOT!!!. My husband and I love red velvet cake. If I do not bake it, we buy it from Cake Man Raven's in Brooklyn. We received rave reviews about Make My Cake from 3 different people. One person came short of swearing on everything he loves that this is the best red velvet ever. So this weekend after my mother-in-law graduated at Riverside Church, we decided to make our way to Make My Cake before meeting the rest of the group for lunch. I was going to order 2 slices of cake, but the slices are all topped with nuts (which due to allergic reactions, I cannot come into contact with). Therefore, I ordered a muffin for myself and a slice of cake for my husband. Neither had much taste, except for the cream cheese frosting which was very tasty. The muffin was dry and heavy. The sliced cake was even heavier and very greasy. While both were terrible and a waste of $9.42, we were able to digest the muffin together. Even with my mother sampling the sliced cake, it still went into the garbage. I am certain that anyone can bake a better red velvet cake using a box of Duncan Hines cake mix. Needless to say, I would never step foot in this place again.
Phenomenal Cake and Wonderful Service. I ordered a cake from Make My Cake for my stepdaughter's baby shower, on only two days' notice. The elegant carriage-shaped cake (for 75 people!) tasted like heaven on earth, smooth and moist, with rich chocolate flavor on the inside and sweet buttercream on the outside. We sampled a few more of their wares when we went to pick up the cake - the best red velvet cupcakes ever, even better than my Southern aunts! The woman who took the cake order over the phone was friendly, efficient and unfazed by the two-day deadline, and the cake was ready at the time we requested. All in all, Make My Cake made our day, and they will definitely be baking the cake for our upcoming wedding reception!
Great Taste / less then perfect service.
While this was one of my favorite bakeries for a number of years, amazingly they have seeminly fell out of my grace. Make My Cake has some of the best tasting cake around however they have seeminly loss site of what made them sucessful. Beside the good cake it was good customer service, which they have seemingly loss.
While on a recent visit I watch the cashier as she served customer and between orders was scratching. People in food service should be aware of all their movement. Now, while I could have mentioned this to her she would have probably got an attitude.
As I talk to people in the neighborhood I found that make my cake does not open on time, so mornings are not good at all. Pick-ups should be done the previous night. One individual arrive to work at 10am waiting for them to open. According to staff the doors open at 8:30am, but that remains to be seen. The staff attitude is as if they are doing you a favor.
Although the cakes taste great and you can get any design or picture you want, you will be charge for everything -- no corners! If cusromer service doesn't amtter to you and you like paying high prices for less then perfect service then this is place for you.
