Thick and chewy. The pizza is definitely better if you go there. The pizza that is delivered is, in my opinion, yucky. My kids like it, sort of, but I find it too thick, chewy, and the toppings are not fabulous. In my opinion, it's not worth the calories!

Not the best. On the strength of the rave reviews (4 stars with 26 reviews), our family began ordering pizzas here last year after a couple years of being disappointed with others in the neighborhood, but now, after six or seven times having pizzas delivered (mostly plain, but once or twice with a topping or two), we're calling it a failed experiment. The sauce is straight from a can, the crust too thick and chewy and the cheese not browned. Oddly, when stopping in off the street, an individual slice, if reheated not fresh, comes with the cheese a little more browned and the crust a little crispier, which is much better.

Oh my Lord, Oh my Lord.... I'm in the middle of slice two and had to stop to write. Hurried home with my slices to catch the final episode of "The Biggest Loser" marathon (I have issues) and let me tell you this- I have never eaten better pizza in NYC. And I've scouted them for clients- I know. Went to Di Fara's and waited 45 minutes for a great slice from a lovely man who adorned each slice with fresh torn basil from his garden- have sat in Grimaldi's on many occasions and had numerous slices of several varieties- and stuffed my face at L&B Spumoni Garden. NEVER have I had a pepperoni slice this good- or as filling. Honestly, I was full after the first slice, but I'm excited and greedy and have ploughed into the second. George made my slice, and I told him that I'd read about him on the internet. He looked surprised, smiled, and made my dinner. People, I could cry. I love food, I love pizza and it's almost tragic that these slices were so unbelievable because this kills my newly hatched diet plans. You won't eat better pizza- you just won't. Thank you, George!

Thank You Georges Pizza...THE BEST PIZZA IN NY!!!!!. Any true New Yorker will tell you the best pizza is at Georges Pizza. If you think Dominoes or Pizza Hut or Papa Johns is good pizza, then you are a complete idiot or not from New York.

George has been in the neighborhood for over 30 years and his pizza is a classic, traditonal sensation any true pizza lover would go crazy for. People travel over the bridge from New Jersey just to get a fresh slice and thats how you want it, HOT and FRESH, served from GEORGE himself.

His tomato sauce is sweet with just the right kick while the cheese is oh so cheesy!!! The flavor is baked right in to the whole crust so each bite you take keeps getting better!!! Quality ingredients mixed with pride of making the best pizza in the best town in NY will definitely make you want to come back for more!!!!

Washington Heights and most of New York grew up on his pizza, becoming a staple in the neighborhood where you can always go to get good food and meet friends and family, because that is how you feel when you step into his pizzeria, FAMILY!

Trust me when i say this, George says thank you, thank you for your business, thank you for your love and thank you for making GEORGES PIZZA truly one of the BEST PIZZAS IN TOWN!!!!! GEORGE LOVES NY AND NY LOVES GEORGE!!!!

726 WEST 181st ST....if you havent been, go, enjoy the best slice you will ever have and say hi to GEORGE!

The best in the Upper Heights. A mainstay of the nabe since 1960. Very generous on ingredients. Pies never underdone. The best you can get above 125th Street.

I love George's! He is the man!. George's Pizza is the best in the city! When you come to George's he treats you like family. As the neighborhood has changed through the years, George has held the block together delivering the best slices everyday. As for the ambiance, it can't be beat. Where else can you see posters of hot blonde greek girls holding large greasy pitas full of gyro meat. There are also framed pictures of george in his early years and the Village Voice write up for top 100 best pizzia places in New York. If you're not from the neighborhood, its well worth the trip up to 181st st one block from the A train. At George's, George makes the pizza. Good luck finding the original Joe, Ray, or John at their pizza places.

Long live George's!
