“Because of the location and the friendly staff, I would definitely stay there again.”
Seksy and spooky, good place for an after-work rendezvous. No windows, eerie yellow lighting, waitresses in sleek backless dresses. Mmmm mystery. A great place to skip off for that wifeless rendezvous. Somewhat on the expensive side (cost us $45 each for the night, no major food-- just bar snacks), the staff is efficient and friendly, if not exactly intimate. The calamari was typically greasy, but the signature hamburger fondue was excellent. Much recommended. The choice of beers was ONE. But since it was Sierra Nevada, that wasn't so bad. At 9:30 the place was packed. But 10:30 we were all that was left. We closed the place at about 12:30. We could only guess that the rest of the patrons had taken their business upstairs into the hotel. --Drink Club is a roving group of NYC drinkers.
I walked into a Heretic/Hexen 1990's Video game!.
Nice idea, horrible outcome. Somebody tried way too hard and missed the mark. The black and white was dizzying. It was if I had stepped into the 1990's Heretic/Hexen video game!!!!
The food was semi okay. The wait staff was annoyingly "forced friendly". Cannot fool a diehard New Yorker! After walking through the streets of New York and then almost missing the entrance you walk into something just as "black and white" as the street.
Next time I'll stick to the soothing decor and wonderful ammenities of the Mandarin on 60th or the SoHo House located semi-downtown who has the world's most comfortable beds and comforters.
They should have hired Cher to do the "gothic" interior design they were aiming for and they would have had a better outcome. Much too "black and white" for my taste. There is always a gray middle ground and they need to find it.
Where am I?. Hot..Hot..Hot!! This is a brilliant find! (You may miss it though while walking down 45th) Stayed here during fashion week as it was recommended by my colleage. The design is fab! not a place for the kiddies! The rooms are cozy. I stayed in a Queen room. Beds are super comfortable and the bath products are great. The restaurant has somewhat of a scene and the food is delish, try the fire and ice! The staff is super friendly and literally go out of thier way to help out. I had a problem with the AC one night and they kept me in the restaurant with glasses of wine until the the issue was resolved about 30 minutes later. They offered a room change but I wanted to give them an opportunity to redeem themselves. They did! You are a few steps from Times Square (once you are in the hotel you would never know it!) Not much a view from the rooms though..it took me a bit to find the window, but never the less I enjoyed my time at Night and I will be back!
Cocktail night never ends at this boutique hotel's gothic-esque bar..
In Short
This windowless cocktail lounge inside Time Square's Night Hotel is lit yellow-green by striking square lamps cut out from the walls. But the snug, tastefully gothic space coordinates its colors easily with a black-clad waitstaff, black leather banquettes and black tables just big enough for post-show or in-the-know visitors to fit a Tom Collins or one of the other trendy, Prohibition-era drinks. A fluid tapas menu, built around a single item, changes weekly.
Fun Hotel. This was our first time in New York and we couldn't have picked a better hotel for the price. The staff was extraordinary. They were so friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small for 4 people but we didn't care because we only slept there. And from what I understand of NYC, unless you want to spend hundreds of dollars a night, most hotels have small rooms. The rooms were clean and the hotel is in a GREAT location. That is all we cared about. They also offer a small continental breakfast which saved us money. Because of the location and the friendly staff, I would definitely stay there again. Thank you to everyone at the Best Western Ambassador for making our first trip to NYC memorable!!!
