What People Are Saying About Poseidon Bakery

In Short – Photos of Olympia Dukakis smile from behind the counter at this family-run bakery, supplier of tissue-thin phyllo to restaurants throughout New York as well as the general public. Poseidon offers a host of Greek baked goods, both sweet and salty. Theirs is known as some of the city's best baklava, with ground almonds and walnuts sandwiched in sheets of phyllo and bathed in honey. But the real reason to come here is for the savories. Spanakopita, a popular spinach- and feta-filled delight, makes a great lunch on the run.
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:
- Lesser-known items like kreatopita (meat pie with a touch of mint) and menina mash (a vegetarian favorite consisting of potatoes, cabbage, greens and onions) also make great street food.
- Know Before You Go:
- To use that credit card, you'll need to place an order totaling $20 or more.
Hell's Kitchen treasure, yummy Greek treats

A marvelously old fashioned, small, European style bakery with a friendly, personal atmosphere. Lily, the lovely older woman who works behind the counter, suggested the filo pastry with custard inside, freshly made today. I got that and the spinakopita. Both were superb.
If one is having a party, their spinakopita, cut into smaller pieces, makes a marvelous hors d'oeuvres.
The latte they serve is made with a French roast espresso has that an authentic European flavor. Delicious and potent! The best coffee in Hell's Kitchen.
