This big-box homage to the red sauce restaurants of your gets dismissed by many for its comically oversized portions, which seem designed to feed whole families of refugees.

Italian is a Must. I ate here for the first time a few weeks ago. We had to wait awhile for table but it was worth it! My table shared the Garlic and Oil pasta and it was delicious! The service was good. They were attentive but not overbearing. It was pretty cheap considering we split it among three people (about $10 per person not including drinks!). Obviously if that was one order it would be much more expensive so it was fairly decently priced. I'd definitely be back here at some point.

Hearty Family Style Italian. I came here for a work lunch and first I was bummed that the food was pre-ordered. The portions are huge though. Family style food. My co-worker Susan ate so much Chicken Parmesan she started to cluck. The Penne Ala Vodka was amazing. Carb overload warning.

There was a bug in the salad!!. While I was eating salad, I felt that I bit something hard.

It was a locust. Really terrible moment!! Found a bug in my mouse.

That means they didn't wash the vegetables.

And when I called the manager, he asked me to bring a new salad. But I rejected because I didn't want to even think about the salad anymore. The manager apologized, but not seriously. I fact after that the manager was continually watching my table. It seemed to me that he was doubtful about the bug thing. And the service was terrible. They didn't even bring the bread till I asked.

The waiters almost threw the dishes on the table. I wanted to leave right after bug thing, but I couldn't because I invited my closest friends. They ruined my pleasant evening with my friends. And I had to pay fully except the salad.

One of the Best!!!!. I discovered this restaurant several years ago and even though I don't live in NYC I visit every time I come back the Bid Apple. The service is top notch, and the food is always consistently phenomenal! The portions are enormous (Bucca Style) and the prices are resonable for the portions you get. Love Carmine's

Touristy in A Good Way. Fun atmosphere, for the price the food is great. Huge portions, great for families, not for a romantic evening on the town. I'm a big foodie and I really like a big ;ol plate of spaghetti, they do it really well.

Pretty cool spot!. We ate here a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It really lets you see what the NY city life is all about. Food wasn't amazing but good. Wine was very tasty! Check it out sometime.

Not as great as led to believe..... The waitress was not able to communicate the way the menu worked. In other words, instead of elaborating on that the menu selections were "family style" - enough for the whole table, we were led to believe that we could order individual portions. Therefore, when we ordered Sea Bass, we were unaware that it was enough for the whole table @ $48.50 a dish, and proceeded to order five other entrees. Needless to say, a lot of waste of food and dollars. Will not be back.......

One of my NYC favorites.... Considering all the tourist traps and franchise-type restaurants in Times Sq, it's good for New Yorkers to have a really good Italian restaurant right in the heart of it all. Been here a bunch of times and the food's always been top-notch. I mean, sure it's not the best Italian in the world like when we go to Batali's Babbo, but all the dishes we've ever tried are excellent and the serving sizes are absolutely huge (family-portion or larger!). If you order an appetizer, it's going to be for like 3 or 4 people, no joke. I have a huge appetite, and I always bring home a doggy bag. My faves are the calamari with sauce for appetitzer, and the shrimp diavlo for entree. The shrimp are huge, they must include 15-20 shrimps, and the sauce is perfect...spicy enough to enjoy, but not too hot. Everything else I've gotten has been either very good or great. We always go with other people. The only con might be the noise -its really loud in this place...so dont expect to go here on a romantic date, that would be a bad choice. The service we've gotten has been OK considering how big the place is, and its always packed. Prices are very affordable, absolutely make reservations ahead. Best times to go would be mid-afternoon on a weekend or about 8:00pm on a weekday after the theater crowd has already left to go to their shows. Bottomline...the food's delicious and they give you plenty and price isnt bad. Carmine's... big thumbs up!
