Editorial Review for Iroquois Hotel – by Gayot.com
The Scene
What this hotel lacks in a lobby it makes up for with its service and guest rooms. The intimate entryway provides just enough space for bellboys to whisk away luggage; the check-in desk leads to a pair of elevators that whisk guests upstairs. The neighborhood is an important part of staying here. Several venerated institutions, including the Harvard Club, the New York Bar Association and the Algonquin surround the hotel, which is buffered by newer attractions such as savvy hipster spot, the Royalton.
The Details
Transformed and upgraded, the 114 spacious accommodations are decorated in soft white and natural tones. Beds sport Frette linens, and the bathrooms are done in marble. Nothing has been spared in the amenities department. Dual-line telephones with data ports, TVs, VCRs and CD players are all on hand. Triomphe restaurant does a good job providing decent food and service without pretension.

We stayed at the Iroquois in May and were treated as if we were the only guests they had to take care of. We received excellent treatment from the time we checked in 4 hours early to the time we checked out about 5 hours late. The concierge was great and knew how to give directions to everywhere we needed to go. They even made dinner reservations for us Saturday night before our show and had 2 glasses of champagne sent to the table. The rooms are small, but the marble bathrooms are awesome. We were on the fourth floor so there wasn't much of a view, but it was very quiet and we didn't even hear any noise from the street below. I would reccommend this place to anyone. I will definitely stay there when I am back in NYC.

My husband and I have a tradition of satying here for our anniversary every year. The staff is always accomodating and friendly. Not sure, but I think it bacame under new management within the past few years. But quality is the same. Dissappointed with the breakfast. Overhaul, very happy here.
Pros: location, luxury, service
Cons: no view
