One of the greatest resources for playwrights in New York City is also one of the best ways for the public to see works-in-progress..
Members--ranging from Emily Mann and August Wilson to Lanford Wilson--use New Dramatists to hear their current works and to see if they're ready for production. There are two spaces here: one with wooden bleachers and space for 90, the other half that size with folding chairs. Readings are free and take place all year round.

the play iz the thing!!!.
New Dramatists offers playwrights an oasis for their
development. Writers can have their work critiqued,
developed & given readings using professional actors. At times these readings are open to a limited public audience & are worth seeing!!
