Shopping >William Barthman Jewelers
“My salesperson, Juan Carlos, was one of the most friendly, non-pressuring, knowledgeable Rolex salespeople I've ever met.”
Very nice store. i got a postcard promoting Pandora charms from a boy this morning when i got out from subway station, and i found this store is just one block away from my workplace and i never noticed it, so i went to the store at noon. i love the store immediately when i entered it. The atmosphere is so relaxing and the people were very nice. i saw they have David Yurman men's jewelry and i love DY. So, this salesman showed me almost the whole collection patiently. i was deciding between two piece and the man let me wear them on my hands and explained to me what each piece does on my body! i like his fashion insights, and i bought both of them. a lunch hour shopping at William Barthman has been a wonderful experience for me.
Superior customer service. My girlfriends introduced me to this high-end watch and jewelry store called William Barthman in Financial District, and I went there with the girls this Tuesday. We had a really satisfying shopping experience, and I bought two Cartier wallets and one Rolex watch for my husband and myself. Their store manager Richard gave me good price on every item and we were all impressed by how professional and friendly he is. I live in New Jersey so I asked if they could ship the Rolex watch to Jersey. In this way I did not need to pay the sales tax in New York. I received the watch the next day. It is really quick! I am very happy and I will go back to get some David Yurman stuff next time because I love DY and I saw they carry a lot of them. I heard this store has been around for 128 years, and it is still there on Broadway. Very impressive!
Connie and Vanessa.
Since meeting Connie and Vanessa from William Barthman's down here in the FInancial District, I cannot make myself go to any other jewelry shops.
These two lovely ladies go above and beyond to give everyon the best customer service ever! They are very friendlly, very nice and very helpful. They are not pushy at all. They are very patient and wait until you have decided if you want to make the purchase. There's no rush- they make you feel like you are their most valuable client.
And I love that. Purchasing a jewelry shouldn't be rushed nor should you feel buyer's remorse after. And these won't happen if you have these two lovely ladies helping you out.
If you do drop by the store, pls look for either one. I can guarantee the best customer service ever!!!
William Barthman - Awful Customer Service. Outrageous customer service! I rarely write reviews, but the experience my husband and I received at William Barthman has been outrageously disrespectful. You would think the store personnel comes from a third world country where store shelves are empty, and a customer gets no rights or respect. My husband and I came to inquire about a particular collection of a designer. We were returning customers, as we had bought a jewelry piece from the store at Brooklyn earlier, and were considering another purchase to match that piece. A sales representative with constricted facial expression (i.e., no facial expression, and no desire to appear pleased to see us) and thick Russian accent bluntly told us that neither of the store locations (Brooklyn or Manhattan) ever offered jewelry from the collection. She persisted to argue with us, after we told her that we had bought the jewelry piece from that collection from William Barthman before. Truly, New York is not a place where a sales representative can argue with a client, - there are plenty of other alternatives to shop! We have choices here, it ain't *** Soviet Union! Another American sales representative who was obviously more socially appropriate and knowledgeable told us that they could order an item of our choice for us. She quickly disappeared behind the door of an office (imagine, the shop was empty, and we were the only customers!), giving us an impression that our business was dismissed as not worth-while of her time, leaving us in the hands of the thick-accent rep. We were going to show her the picture of the item we were looking for, and to our disbelief and outrage, she stepped away from the counter where we were standing, said, "I don't want to see it!" and waved her hands at us. We were shocked at such an outrageous customer service! Never again would be use William Barthman, and we want to make it our mission to spread the word about their awful customer service that we had, that we won't ever wish to anyone else! Avoid them! They don't deserve your business, not until they learn basic courtesy skills and socially appropriate behavior.
Horrible customer service at William Barthman @ Braodway.
where should I start with this place.
maybe with the russian lady that could barely speak proper english (horrible thick accent), and had a hard time orienting herself, in her own shop.
The most horrible thing is when she was trying to be confident, and telling me that haventt kept any of the products I was asking for (Roberto Coin designs) for the last 5 years, while I was a returning customer (I purchased a ring some 1,5 years ago from that very place).
The most horrible thing was when she was trying to brush us off, since probably it was 4.30 and she couldnt wait to close at 5PM.
she was wearing this stupid look in her face, and when I asked her how long she has been with this place as I though maybe she was a new employ, hence didnt know about previous products, she got so bothered and became rude to the point that I couldnt imagine.
that place was totally empty when I visited it (as it usually is and I can imagine why) and I do realize that this shop was designed to make happy some delirious Wall Street guy who cant wait to spend the money he just made, however cant really picture what kind of customers will go there to deal with these kind of people that dont know even the minimum of customer service rules.
definitely wont recommend it to even pass by ...
while overpriced, and the worst combination of people that you can imagine they will"serve you" this place has this bad atmosphere, with this old ladies that cant even figure out what they are doing there (duh, this aint russia).
same experience I had when I visited their brooklyn shop where Sally deutsch was such a master in brushing off customers with sweet words and never finish properly a job.
I always wonder is this place is a cover for some other things that they do on the side, because they really dont care what they sell and how they can lure customers to their products.
try it in your own risk and hopefully you will get the lesson I am trying to teach.
Wonderful watch-buying experience, highly recommended.
I was shopping for a Rolex Submariner for myself and didn't want to go to a big, factory-like store. Boy, did I make the right decision to take the train downtown to William Barthman.
My salesperson, Juan Carlos, was one of the most friendly, non-pressuring, knowledgeable Rolex salespeople I've ever met. There was none of the snobby attitude I've experienced at larger Rolex dealers, where the salesperson checks out your shoes to see if you "deserve" to buy a Rolex. I came a few times and tried on a few different models before deciding, and through the whole process he was very helpful, and never employed any pressuring 'buy-it-now' sales tactics.
I finally decided on a model, and when it came time to make the purchase, I was treated like royalty - the watch was experlty sized to fit my wrist, we discussed care and service instructions, and Juan Carlos even emailed me afterwards to see how I like the watch. This is not a trendy, flash-in-the-pan-type store - it's old-world, excellent customer service, and about as good as it gets if you're looking for a high-end watch.
Great Customer Service (Renee). She was most helpful and very accomodating in selecting our purchase. We were very pleased and will definitely go back. The merchandise she offered was beautiful and the prices were great.
