Lovely Neighborhood Bagel Joint.
When I moved to the UES, one of the first recommendations I received was to check out the Bagel Mill. There are some staples that everyone needs in their neighborhood - pizza place, sushi place, grocery store, dry cleaners and thai place (these are for me at least), and last but not least, a good bagel place. Bagel Mill fit the bill.
The bagels are always fresh tasting, perfectly doughy in the middle, and the cream cheese selection is refreshing. I'm also a huge fan of their iced coffee, but warning - get the small. I'm not sure what they put in their iced coffee, but I made the amateur mistake of getting a large the first time (my friend did too) and about half way through we started to feel nauseas and jittery from the caffeine - something that rarely happens to either of us. However, the small is perfect and definitely wakes you up!
This is a place I look forward to on weekend mornings and it's definitely worth a try if you're in the neighborhood!

The only bagel I want to eat. This is one reason I wouldn't give up my 5th floor walk-up on the UES...my morning bagel from The Bagel Mill. Giant, airy, yummy bagels... ALWAYS fresh - I wouldn't dream of toasting them. They also have "mini-bagels" which are almost the size of the rock-hard poor excuses of a bagel at many of the nearby delis. Oh, and they make a really good pistachio muffin, too.

Best on Upper East Side. We've tried most of the bagels on the Upper East Side and these are the best. Properly crispy on the outside without being too crispy and chewy on the inside. Always fresh.

Best On The East. This is far and away the best place for Bagels on the UES. Fast, no hassle service and deliciously simple bagels. I don't bother with anywhere else.

Convenience is why we go to the bagel mill. (It's in my best friends building.)
