Amazing Brunch. This Upper East Side gem is "heavenly".... I ordered an egg white omlette with spinach, feta, and onion accompanied by a pumpkin muffin..I've never had such a fresh and fluffy omlette and the muffin was savory and sweet, especially paired with the preserves... There is usally a wait here so try to come on a day off if you are not willing to wait for the goodness. I will definitely be coming back here soon!

That's a Fritatta!. Generally I sleep past noon on weekends - but on a Friday I had a good one. The fritatta had red and green peppers with bacon and was light - and huge. The New York Bloody doesn't match the Chicago or Milwaukee - lacked the spice I genrally desire. A side of sauges in peach preserves was a solid choice too. I discovered real English Muffins look nothing like Thomas' brand. Omelettes with Guyere cheese, a front bakery and preserve shop? Very nice.

Poor service, cold food and overpriced. This place is TOURIST-UNFRIENDLY. The server tried to squeeze 8 of us into a small 6-people table, and generally very rude, running away from at our mid sentence. Food is just average. Papa pouridge and egg benedict were cold. And they put 20% automatic gratuity on top when we asked for the bill. They don't deserve that and worst still, they simply have developed this practice to treat tourists badly... Don't listen to tourist guidebook or concierge. You will definitely be disappointed. If you must go, skip this one and try the one in upper west side, but prepare for long waits.

Overpriced and Below Average Food. I am so upset that we spent $50 on breakfast for 2 people and it was horrible. The bacon was dry and tasteless, the eggs benedict were the worst I've ever had! The french toast was basically just bread with no flavor. If you just want to go for the name and 'trendiness' of this place, expect to spend lots of money on tasteless food. Will never go back there again..Oh, this was my second time there and we only went again to try and give it another shot because Island - next door with awesome food and service- wasn't open yet.

expensive breakfast and great coffee. We went to Sarabeth's for a late breakfast on a weekday and we were seated right away. The restaurant is small and cozy and the tables are VERY close together. In fact, the people sitting next to us commented on our conversation! I could of ate off my neighbors plate easily, we were pratically bumping elbows as we ate! The food was good, the portions were adequate, I remember only the jam and coffee as being outstanding. I thought it was too expensive for what you get. The service was okay, the waitress didn't forget anything but she wasn't especially nice and she didn't come back to check on us. We had to flag her down for more coffee and our check. They had a counter where you could get pastries to go, when I picked one, the lady said she didn't work the counter and left. After standing around for a few minutes, I left too.

Warm, Country Brunch on the Upper East Side. Sarabeth's is a charming, warm restaurant nustled in the Hotel Wales on the Upper East Side. Sarabeth's menu offers distinct and creative favorites that make it hard to decide. The long lines at Brunch are worth it!

With five outposts around town, Sarabeth's Kitchen has become a well-known and reliable spot for casual dining at breakfast, lunch or dinner. This Madison Avenue outpost has a citified rustic decor featuring small pastry cases, mullion windows, bentwood chairs and brass touches.

The Food
Lines form early on weekends for chive-scrambled eggs, pumpkin waffles lavished with sour cream, sticky buns and raisin scones and quality baked goods. Lunch and dinner follow similar patterns-seasonal highlights include a robust autumn-vegetable salad with apples, cheddar, celery root and the cornmeal-crusted crabcake with julienne beets, sweet peppers and watercress. Desserts include simple winners like the candied pecan tarte and the spicy gingerbread ice cream.

Adorable place!. I came here for brunch and was greeted by a friendly staff. The food is very good, and the service was prompt. It's a cute place if you're in the neighborhood, and the baked goods are very delicious.

Mandatory 18% gratuity for 2 persons. My friend and I went for breakfast at Sarabeth on May 21, 2006 as it was recommended by the hotel's concierge as the "best breakfast in town". The wait was long, our server was in a horrible mood and never smiled, and both the food and the ambience of the place were average. But what really shocked me was that we were charged 18% gratuity when we received the bill. When I asked her about it, she said that that's their policy. I can understand that for big groups, but it was just the two of us. As we were tourists in NYC, we thought maybe this was the norm so we didn't say anything more. But later found out that the server had actually lied to us. Overall, a terrible experience on our last day in NYC.

Nothing special. I had brunch there after all the glowing reviews. It was nothing that I couldn't have gotten at a diner only cheaper. Coffee was of diner quality. I had lemon ricotta pancakes. They were 5 or 6 SMALL pancakes with some lemon flavor. Some fresh strawberries were placed on the plate around them. I also had "Holland pork and apricot sausage". They were plain pork sausages sitting in a dish of some apricot sauce. My partner had a standard veggie wrap. Those items with two cups of coffee was 38 dollars. I was not stuffed. The waitress was friendly but very busy. I'd say there are better and cheaper places for breakfast that don't require a 30 minute wait.
