LOVELY DINNER. This was our first time dining at Pascalou and plan on putting this on our list of "GO TO" restaurants. A bit small and cozy; not for large groups. Great Prix fixe dinner and very good wine list. Food is excellent and service was perfect.

Neighborhood French restaurant. I have been going to Pescalou for years because it is in the neighborhood, the prices are far and the food is reasonably good. The place is small and the tables are close together. However the new matre d' is so rude and disrespectful, that I cannot recommend going here.

Food is ok!!!. This was place was good. A little 'cozy' - it's not a place to bring a large group of people but the food is good. I had the grilled duck breast and it was OK but I tried my friend's lamb dish and it was yum to the 'oh'!! melted like butter in my mouth. I'd go again.

Wonderful Brunch. Waht a wonderful find while looking for a lazy Sunday brunch. The value was fantastic, the food was wonderful, and the decor was so comforting. Two of ate there, the French toast was soft and crisp on the edges, and the presentation of the fruit and whip cream really added to what we consider the standard. the omlette was perfectly cooked, and the aroma of truffles was not overpowering, but teasing. Beautiful plates of course encourage the experience, but the decor and service went hand in hand. Hospitable, precise, and non intrusive best describes them. After you finish your meal, the dessert was not at all too much, but just right to pick at with another cup of coffee, or whatever. Show up a little early, 11ish to beat what I would expect to be there busy hours, and really enjoy yourself.

Don't go. This menu is very broad with many choices. I was excited to have so many options. However, after eating there, I think it would be in the restaurants best interest to limit the menu and improve in one area. The menu is not accurate, they substitute without mention and I thought the food was horrible.

WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT. Yes, the food is a bit pricey. But if you don't expect to pay a bit more when dining in Carnegie Hill, thenyou're not familiar with the neighborhood. Eating on a clean, quite section of MAdison, where the restaurants can open their doors and not give the feeling of sitting by the Westside Highway is a bonmus in itself. Moreover, you pay for the dependability and quality of thses small restaurants. The dishes do not push the envelope of creative cuisine, but they are almost always plate-cleaningly delicious. Seafood is fresh, service is always prompt, the atmosphere is quiet and personable- allowing you to actually talk AND hear the responses. I would gladly pay a few dollars more for this than trying the newest, loudest Park Ave So hotspot, or LES overpriced bistro/panneria/tapas/fusion joint. But then again, the latter is also fun at the right time.

great french bistro. Wonderful food, huge menu for its size, a littel cramped but always warm and welcoming. The best in the neighborhood.
