Great Company. My daughter moved into one of their apartment this week and her apartment is great. My wife was nervous to let our 22 yr old move away from home but after seeing the building and meeting the managing agent, I was delighted.

She is very prompt.

Delighted. I am delighted with my apartment that I rented from Shalimar Management. I have lived in the city for over 15 years and dealt with many management companies and I feel that the Shalimar is one of the good ones.

I had a problem with my job not electronically depositing my check and I called the management company and explained the reason why my check may bounce.

They informed me since I had always paid on time and this was the first occurrence, they will not charge me a late fee and that I can pay on November 12th this time.

My previous management company will not have cared and would have charged me a late fee anyway.

That being said, I am happy with Shalimar Management

Best decision. I am happy to say renting from Shalimar was one of my best decision.

No complaints.

After reading 2 negatives reviews, I was not sure if I wanted to rent from this company but the apartment was beautiful and reasonable priced. I spoke to a tenant who is an attorney that lived in that building for nearly two years and she was happy there.

I was currently living in a building that was run by a big real estate firm and they were bad so I try renting from Shalimar Management.

I am very happy with my decision.

No complaints.

No complaints!. I think Shalimar management has made some major internal changes in terms of staff and organization, because the people I dealt with were really nice and professional. The apartments I saw were brand new and the buildings were very well kept. I just have no complaints!

Shalimar Management.. So Far, So Good!. The people at Shalimar Management were very pleasant to deal with during the application process and the apartments they showed me all seem very well kept. I can't wait to move in to my new place on dec 1 2010!

I met some of the tenants and they all seem nice as well. They told me that the management company is pretty responsive and they didn't have any issues with them.

Surpise. Shalimar has been in business for many years and I lived in one of their buildings for 5 years and it surprise me that people would say negative things. Remember there is always TWO SIDE TO A STORY and unfortunately you are only hearing one side. I have recommended their buildings to friends and co-workers and they are happy.

Couldn't Possibly Be Worse.... I read all of the reviews below and thought well....who does like their management company? I finally found a good apartment, it can't be that bad....

I've had some pretty bad management companies before but I simply cannot fathom one being worse Shalimar. I won't go into details, but please, PLEASE listen to these reviews and save yourself the tears, stress, and years of your life and DO NOT move into one of their buildings. It simply amazes me that two of the most immature, rude, unreasonable, and just downright mean people work together.

I've never reviewed anything and I created a login on CitySearch just to warn all potential tenants! Please don't be like me and listen!!

540 west 50th street. They have a building at 540 west 50th street also. The management at Shalimar are crazy including the landlord. Research these people and you will see they are all criminals. Tenants move out because they do not want to deal with management anymore. They have a high turnover rate as all the employees are unprofessional, yell at tenants, hang up on them and harass them. If any tenants need anything from management, it becomes a nightmare. I agree with the other reviewers. These people should not be allowed to be in business. The government need to overhaul landlord and managment companies and not allow these types of people to ever own or manage anything. You are forewarned.

Don't do it. They are rude, unprofessional, untrustworthy nutcases. They need to go out of business. People like ALL of them are the problem with the world. Don't live in any of their building or you will regret it without a doubt.

Horribly rude and abrasive - Avoid business at all costs. This management company has caused me nothing but loss of sleep since I began renting from them. From day one when trying to sign the lease, they attempted to kick one of our tenants off the documents because they "asked too many questions"! Too many questions? Like - "can we have a copy of the lease before we sign..." or "What utilities are we paying for". Should have known right away that they were trying to hide stuff from us and get away with murder.

After moving in, the apartment immediately materialized millions of problems which were "conveniently" covered up during our viewing. Then, later on during our time there, we were continuously hassled for "missing" rent, which we had sent in weeks ago. Whenever we tried to call in, you could never reach someone. I don't think it's because everyone was out, but rather that they avoid answering their phones because they know they're so bad.

Bottom line - stay away at all costs.

I have a good feeling that we'll never see our security deposit again either. It has been two months since we moved out, and still nothing.
