This is one fantastic place. The staff is friendly, the pool is amazing, the fitness center has awesome classes. It's such a gem on the Upper East Side.

The fitness center overlooks the river and is beautiful, the pool is amazing and the staff is extremely friendly. Asphalt Green is a 10 across the boards.

Not a Meet Market

Great gym, people serious about getting healthier, not cheesy guys hitting on every girl in there, not total psycho beefcakes... great classes, phenom pool, very clean, never over crowded. maybe a bit pricier than nysc and equinox, but well worth it and still less than the really big ticket places like reebok and crunch
The Details on Asphalt Green
Know Before You Go:
The pool is shut down yearly--usually from around August 20 to Labor Day--in order to give it a thorough cleaning. The rest of the time, even non-members can gain access for a fee.
The Extras:
Beyond Pilates, aerobics and yoga, this health club also offers less commonplace courses in African dance, volleyball and various martial arts. Plus, there's triathlete training!
Parking:
Asphalt Green members (and program users) can get a discount on parking at the Brittany Garage located at 441 E 92nd Street between York Avenue and First Avenue.
