“of course fresh flowers.”
“Starting with the service everything was near perfect”
“It took me quite some time to convince her that it was NOT that (a) i had bad taste and/or (b) I was cheap but rather these guys are ripoffs.”
pretty, but overpriced. yes, let's face it, they are good, good if you have A LOT of money and don't really expect anything outstanding... but always fresh, which is goooood)
Beautiful Gift. My parents wanted to send me flowers to congratulate me on my promotion. They found Big Apple online and chose them based on all of their great reviews. I received a beautiful compact arrangement in a cylinder vase with some orchids, calla lilies, and other very nice flowers. The arrangement lasted over a week and I received a very nice phone call the following day from the florist telling me how to care for the flowers. Over all, I was very pleased with the arrangement and will certainly use them in the future.
Costly Mistake.
Let me just start this review by stating that I have never posted a review online in my life, but I had such a horrible experience with Big Apple, I felt other potential customers should hear my story.
After reading favorable reviews, I contacted Big Apple Florist to design the holiday decor for my home (Xmas tree, wreaths, table centerpiece, etc.) My husband and I own a global business and do a lot of entertaining in our home, so it is of utmost importance to us that the decor be immaculate.
Everything started off beautifully; a designer came to my home, we developed a decor plan together that I was happy with, and initially everything they delivered was spot on.
The problem came when my 10 foot Xmas tree, which was so full and gorgeous when they delivered it, dried up and died 10 days from delivery. Despite my watering it religiously, the tree was not drinking, and after less than two weeks was so dry it looked shriveled and the branches easily snapped.
This occurred a few weeks before Xmas, so I called Big Apple and requested that they provide a new tree. I figured since my husband and I spent more than $3,000 with them for our holiday decor, that they would be glad to fix the problem. Unfortunately this was not the case. They wanted to charge me an additional $800 to replace the tree and redecorate the new one, which I told them I did not feel good about, and that they should be willing to stand behind their products that they deliver- if something is wrong with the tree (which obviously there was or there's no way it would have dried up), then they should replace it at their own expense.
As the conversations progressed, the owner got involved and was very rude to me, and flatly accused me of not watering the tree and thus being responsible for the tree drying up. I'm sorry, but if it was my fault and I neglected to water my own tree, I would have happily paid for a replacement, but this just simply was not the case.
Ultimately my husband had to threaten legal action for them to agree to replace the tree for free. Unfortunately they decided to bring me the worst looking replacement tree ever. It was thin and scraggly looking, with gaps between branches and a crooked trunk. Not at all near the quality of the first tree they brought. Had I been home when they delivered it, I would have refused the second tree and just called it a day.
I hated the new tree so much that I took it down the first day I saw it. I thought my home looked better with no tree than with the dilapidated tree they brought. The worst part is is that I am sure they just gave me this tree because they were angry about replacing it at no cost, and they knew I would hate it. As a business owner myself, I would never in my life stoop below my own personal quality standards and purposely provide a client with a product I knew they would be dissatisfied with - even if I did think the client was in the wrong.
Long story short, I feel like I was cheated out of $3,000. Even though the wreaths and other decor was beautiful, the Xmas tree was the most important element, and without that I was not happy with the overall effect. I have never been so disappointed with any vendor of any sort in my life.
These Guys Rock.
My friend Mandy lives over on the west coast and do to her pressing professional life she is unable to get over to New York often. Our friend Caron recently had a baby boy and Mandy looked to me to find her something great.
Through a little internet browsing I stumbled across Big Apple Florist and I’m glad that I did. Big Apple Florist offers a gift basket for newborns. It has everything one will need for a newborn. Mandy jumped all over the idea and ordered one for little Tommy. I am so pleased with Big Apple Florist. The clothes are adorable — themed with “Got milk?” the clothes have a cookie on them! I am so glad I found these guys.
Thanks!
Great florist. I have been searching for an awesome florist in NYC and have tried several of them in the past but either the quality wasn’t fantastic or they looked like ‘the usual arrangement’ regardless of the price. Thanks to the reviews below I decided to try Big Apple Florist and my search has ended, they are great! I needed to send same day flowers to a colleague recovering from surgery and everything was awesome, she even sent me a picture of them and said that the florist called to ask if she enjoyed her flowers. Nice touch! I will definitely continue to use Big Apple Florist from now on.
Best Find. I am sooo glad I found Big Apple Florist- I desperately needed to send someone flowers who had just had surgery and was recommended to use them and I couldn't be happier that I did. They were so accomodating especially since my request was last minute, and the flowers were unreal. I am switching and using them for all of my floral needs!!
Amazing NYC Florist. I received flowers from here a few months ago and since then have been using them for my own floral needs. Big Apple Florist is incredible, it is clear that time, care, and attention to detail is implemented on every single floral arrangement they produce. I love their flowers, and am going to use them for my husband's 50th surprise party. I can't recommend them enough- trust me, use them, they are the best!!
Thanks Big Apple !. So when I found this place I was so happy! It's just by my office and they have been always good to me. I was getting ready to place an order for my mothers bday when I looked them up. Since that day I have used no other florist. They do a great job.
Starting with the service everything was near perfect. I read the below reviews but I was frecomended by a friend. I went because I trust the friend. The service was immediately the exact opposite of what I read about. Everyone was kind and generous. I asked for the flowers to be delivered and they asked me what I wante don them, what kind and they even helped me pick some, Definitely going to use these guys each time I need to deliver flowers or pick up for that matter. And the price, not to bad either.
Fine Service, Beautiful Flowers. I used this florist for my wedding anniversary and everything was delivered on time. They made everything so easy and I was surprised about the cost. My wife was super happy with the abundance of flowers and the way that they were placed. I will use these folks more and more.
