This morning I had the best facial. I was just walking by the spa and thought I would go in and check things out. I was so pleasantly surprised how nice everyone was at the front desk. I was able to get an appointment on the spot too. What a great place!

I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked a color and a cut with AF Bennett salon because all I knew was that it is a high end salon which I've never been to before. When I walked in, I was greeted with extraordinary guest services. They offered me cappuccino which was served in a glass mug! That was just the beginning.... then they offered me a robe to change into... I never had that offered to me in ANY salon before. Next I was brought to the sinks where i was then offered a massage with my wash. Are you kidding me right now? Awesome!! The massage was at a station on the other end of the salon which was amazing not to mention the head massage during the wash and conditioner was the best ever. This place just kept getting better! I then had the most amazing color and cut and when I walked out, I was looking and feeling beautiful with at least 10 shaved off my age. (no not really shaved...) I will recommend this salon to everyone I know. It was the best experience in a salon ever. Loved it! ~ Stephanie P.

I saw some great reviews on this spa and wow... I just had the most amazing massage in the world and yes.. the steam shower was the greatest!

THE WORST! STAY AWAY. I have never in my life been so angry as I was when I walked out of this place on valentines day weekend. For Valentines day my boyfriend bought me a gift certificate for a facial. I made the appointment for that sunday eager to use it. When I walked in the girls at the counter stared me up and down...must have been noticing my expensive bag and figured this is a great person to up charge.

Well long story short, I have my facial, the girl asks me If i need deep extractions and that it would be additional. I said, I don't think I do but can you let me know when you start my facial...after all we were in a dark room and I had NO visible pimples. After my horrendous facial (I've had better at skin station for half the cost) I walk up to the counter and the facial person is no where to be found. I give them my gift certificate for my facial and the girl tells me I have a $70 balance because the girl who did my facial said I decided I wanted a clarifying facial. HUH????? We didn't speak anything of the sort???? When I told the girl at the counter it was ridiculous, and that they had poor business practice she rolled her eyes at me denying everything I said and saying I had to pay. Clearly could care less about an unhappy customer. I paid the remaining balance and my boyfriend called afterwards to complain. The manager NEVER CALLED HIM BACK! This place is SOOOO greedy that they ruin a present my boyfriend gave me for VALENTINES DAY! I would never in my life recommend this place to my worst enemy. Little do they know I work in the bridal industry and have already told every girl I know getting married about this horrible salon. They have not only lost a customer, but will lose many more in the future. Please give your business to salon's that appreciate their customers.

Spa is not good. Horrible massage, painful and not up to standards. Go elsewhere.

LOVE IT!. I go to this spa often for facials and love it. The atmosphere is very relaxing and upscale and they do a great job.

I also buy my Fiance massage gift certificates here frequently and he LOVES them! He loves the steam showers that they have.

I would go and try it out and form your own opinion.

As for the weird review below me - who brings babies to spas anyway? That sounds odd to me.

i hate this place. Ive been to AF Bennett once before with good results so when my mother in law got me a gift certificate there, I was thrilled. I booked 2 appointments, one for me and one for my mom. I originally booked 1:30 and 2:30 but decided that it was too late (we both have young babies). I called back a little while later and asked for an earlier appointment, which the girl on the phone said she had open at 12:30. So on the day of our appointments, my mom and I show up, babies in tow, to get our massages. At the front desk, the annoying little girls told us that our appointments werent until 1:30 and 2:30. We told them that we had called and changed those appointments weeks ago, and all they kept saying was, "Who did you speak to?" as if I really thought I had to ask the girl on the phone what her name was. We were told that we would have to wait until our appointment times, which annoyed the hell out of me because we had babies with us and couldnt really keep them occupied for that long. I felt that it was the receptionists' mistake, and we had to suffer for it. The manager came over at one point and although very nice, told me that there was nothing she could do, and that I should ask to speak to her next time I make an appointment. She doesn't have to worry, because I wont be making appointments there ever again. I ended up getting my massage (my mom skipped hers) only because I wanted to be rid of my $300 gift certificate and never have to go into that place again.

Nice atmosphere, not worth the money. I had been going here for years for my facials which i loved, until i noticed the quality of the aestheticians was going downhill. I wrote a letter to complain and was given a free facial with the SAME girl who i complained about previously. You are paying NYC prices but are not getting the quality of service you would in an upscale NYC spa. I now go elsewhere.

Take a Steam Shower. I usually go there for massages... Even though they have other services as well. A massage there is well worth what you pay for. Between the steam shower, and then the relaxing area while you wait for the massuer. It's very tranquil and clean. Then the massage is always great, no matter which massuer you get. Very reliable, and I'm sure I'll be using them for other services soon.

The most reliable salon on Staten Island. I have been going to A.F. Bennett for several years now. I usually get my hair done and they do an excellent job. Each cut comes with a mini massage while they let the conditioner soak in your hair; they also serve beverages while you wait and give you a hot pack to put on your shoulders. The staff is very courteous and professional, and they are well-trained. The thing only is that I usually end up waiting about 10 minutes after my appointment time, but in all fairness the times I have been running late they have been very lenient and polite about it so i guess it evens out.
