“The atmosphere is very casual and the prices are reasonable for a gene.”

“Okay, so the neighborhood leaves a little something to be desired, but say you're coming from a Yankee game (only a few blocks away) and you're looking for some stick-to-your-ribs Italian food, this is a great place to go.”

hearty food and warm, friendly service. This place really exceeded my expectations! Had a large lunch party here, and had such a good time, will return soon. Delicious food, freshly prepared: Perfectly dressed salad with fresh, crisp lettuce, followed by a superb penne vodka (I would come back for this alone) and then a delicate fried flounder with a sauteed broccoli as good as my Italian mother in law makes! The service was professional and attentive. Will come back for sure. Especially good for a group of friends.
Some of the best Italian eats in the South Bronx!. Okay, so the neighborhood leaves a little something to be desired, but say you're coming from a Yankee game (only a few blocks away) and you're looking for some stick-to-your-ribs Italian food, this is a great place to go. It's been a staple of the neighborhood since forever, a testament to the quality of the food. The atmosphere is very simple and unpretentious, the staff is friendly, the food is tasty (they have, hands down, the BEST chicken cacciatore on the bone that I have ever tasted - and I have tasted quite a few - and their sauteed broccoli is out of this world) and, while you're waiting for your food, they serve you warm, toasty Italian bread straight out of the oven! Their prices are probably a little higher than you would expect for the neighborhood (that chicken cacciatore with the side order of broccoli comes to just under $20 WITHOUT appetizer, dessert or beverage) but the portion sizes support the prices. All in all, an enjoyable experience.
