At 250 sprawling acres, this national landmark in the northern half of Bronx Park contains 16 gardens, a cascading waterfall and the historic Snuff Mill. Home to the country's largest Victorian greenhouse, the garden also houses the International Plant Science Center where botanical research has been going on since 1891. An array of special events spans from the Tulip Festival to free Sunday afternoon concerts in summer.

Save MoneyAdmissions is free on Wednesdays. Saturday mornings between 10am and noon, fees are also waived.
Know Before You GoThe walk from the Bedford Park Boulevard stop to the gardens is about 20 minutes (just head east once you exit the subway). Or, the BX26 bus drops you right off at the garden gates.
The ExtrasClasses in botany, horticulture, landscape design and botanical art and illustration are available.
Look GoodThe garden's Snuff Mill banquet hall space is often used for wedding receptions.
