“You'll definitely enjoy the ambiance here.”
“Patricia's I unlike her sibiling Patricia's II is always a guaranteed great meal.”
“From the home made pasta's to the entree's this place lives up to the reputation of being the best place in the Bronx.”
“If you're not a recognized patron or fit a particular stereotype, I gather you receive beyond mediocre service.”
Great service, classic Italian food of the red-sauce and mozzarella variety, and an atmosphere that no Hollywood art director could hope to simulate make's Patricia's a quintessential old-school Bronx restaurant. "Try the veal, it's the best in the city."
A must go to in the Bronx. I love Patricia's, its a really great restaurant. The decor, the atmosphere is unusual for the Bronx. The food is amazing and delicious. Great quality, preparation and menu. Not the usual same old italian menu you get in the Bronx...The owners and staff are great. We go every week and are never disappointed. You also need to go next door to Sweet Sofia's the new bakery shop, beautiful place, great cakes, and treats, different for the Bronx and a great add to the same old Bronx, places. I am a former Bronxite and a foodie. I know good food. A MUST GO!!
A Feast for a King. Amazing. From the home made pasta's to the entree's this place lives up to the reputation of being the best place in the Bronx. Simple Italian food at its best.
Amazing Everything!.
At first I was confused because the restaurant was at capacity and I didn't see a podium where names were being taken for seating. I asked a few patrons outside and was told to just hang around until the owner comes out and acknowledges you.
But don't get me wrong, this place is totally unpretentous and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Great for family and friends to gather. It might be a bit busy for a low key romantic date but trust me, the food will probably outshine your date hands down!
Alex, the owner, is super attentive to every one who walks through the door. He has obviously rubbed off on his staff because no matter who you grabbed, they were equally attentive.
Alex was aware that this was our first visit and took his time to go over the menu with us. once he realized that there were many dishes that we had never heard of let alone tried, he encouraged us to try something new and even assureds us that if we were not happy with it tha he would replace it with another dish that we were familiar with, free of charge.
From the calamari, to the steak, shrimp scampi, roasted duck, and pasta...there wasn't one thing that we didn't love!
This was the first time that I enjoyed a meal starting with the bread basket to my expresso after dessert.
I didn't mind the wait and I will definately be back there for all special occassions and everything in between!
Thank you alex and thanks to your staff. This is the first time I couldn't wait to get home and add to the reviews for a restaurant.
Don't waste your time or money; go to Enzo's instead.
After having had a mediocre experience at Patricia's a few years ago, I thought I'd give the place another chance. What a mistake! My portobella mushrooms were charred and burned, my chicken cold and when I mentioned this to my waitress, she barely apologized and when she returned with another vegetable she basically ignored me and practically slammed the food down on the table.
The waitress also messed up part of the order (we were only a party of two). However, when we entered Patricia's it was not yet crowded.
The busboy passed by the table numerous times with a pitcher of water in hand and did not acknowledge the fact the my glass was almost empty but went onto other tables to serve them instead.
If you're not a recognized patron or fit a particular stereotype, I gather you receive beyond mediocre service. I am dumbfounded as to how this place has received good ratings in the past. My experience at Patricia's has been 0 for 2 and I will NOT give it another chance. My biggest mistake -- actually leaving a tip. I should have just left my two cents on the table -- perhaps they would have gotten the hint!
average.... Food was average, service was shotty, the place is very small, crowded. It's not bad, just average.
Better than its sister Patricias II. As said in the last review, it's small, BUT the food is great and so is the staff. Rigatoni ala Vodka is good, also check out their Veal Parm, excellent. You'll definitely enjoy the ambiance here. Have been here over 20x, and have never been disappointed.
Much better than it's counter-part patricia's II. Patricia's I unlike her sibiling Patricia's II is always a guaranteed great meal. The only problem here is that this restaurant is very small and fills up very fast!
