I love this company. This is my 5th year with Van Zandt Agency and I think the world of them. I came in this week to do my taxes and was in and out in no time. I was able to get an appointment at short notice at the time I wanted. I have been using the same preparer for years and never have any trouble. If you need your taxes done this is the place to go. Plus I find it a one stop shop since I do my investments through them and refinanced my home last year through their mortgage department.

H&R BLOCK here i come. I called the IRS to find out the status of a specific form. Found out that the form was never filed. When contacting Van Zandt nobody knew anything. I spoke to a person who said they will amend my tax, send the form for me to sign. Waited 2 weeks for the letter didnt recieve anything. Call back they dont know anything and tell me they call me back and never did. They are poor in customer service. I know mistakes happen but follow up on your work and dont LIE!!!! to people. Hopefully my issue will get resolved sometime this year. H&R BLOCK next year

Avoid At All Costs (Pun Intended). I cannot recommend this agency to anyone. We chose Van Zandt to prepare our personal and my wife's corporate return on someone's recommendation. What a mistake! On my wife corporate return, it takes multiple phone calls to get them to do anything, she constantly was stressing over missing filing deadlines. There were frequent little mistakes on the corporate side and finally we found out from our new tax preparer that they failed to file a NYC coprorate tax return. On our personal taxes it's even worse. They made a mistake on our 2007 return and we had to pay the penalty (at least they amended it for free). Then we found out they had improperly filed both our 2006 & 2007 returns so we ended up overpaying. Their corporate department sends out multiple invoices to my wife for the same tasks, it was just a disaster having to deal with them. They don't seem to know what they are doing much of the time. We are happy now that we have someone to talk to who knows how to properly review both personal and corporate returns and not just someone in a cube who can ring a bell.

I would say they are okay if you have a very simple tax situation, but if you really need a tax specialist, look elsewhere.

Incompetence at its finest - Avoid this tax agency at all costs!. My husband and I used Van Zandt for our tax preparation for several years. They "forgot" to e-file our state taxes one year, but did pay the penalty when we requested them to. When we were audited by the IRS and NYS, however, their incompetence became apparent. It was very difficult to speak to anyone about our audit and when we did (after weeks of calling and leaving messages), we were told they were working on it and that the IRS was backed up. In the end, we ended up having to pay for their errors (in the thousands) and were told by other accountants who we had review their tax filings that they were the worst they have ever seen. Needless to say, we will not be using them again.

Sorry I didn't know about them sooner!!!. My godbrother introduced my to Van Zandt after hearing me complain about getting my taxes done. That was going on 5 years ago. I wish I knew about them before then. The staff is professional as well as friendly. They respect and appreciate your business. They are extremely thorough, after your taxes are prepared they are checked again to make sure nothing was left out or any mistakes were made. I never feel rushed or hurried.

I love ringing that bell!!!!!!

Van Zandt Agency. I've been doing my taxes at the Van Zandt Agency for the past 5 years. I get gift certificates, which are usually $30 or $70, every year for referring new clients. I'm trying to get the trip to Mrytle Beach this year!

I would recomend anyone to the Van Zadt Agency........

Excellent Income Tax Specialist and CPA's. For the number of years I've called on these guys to prepare my tax....I've always been pleased in the end!
